Indie Porn Review: Bright Desire’s ‘I.M. in Love’

For both a throwback and a delightfully unexpected scene, I point you to: Bright Desire's "I.M. in Love." Not only do I love Aeryn Walker as a performer, but I also really love cybersex and the amazing sexual tension that it builds. The thing is - I've never seen it done well in porn, or done much at all. I've definitely never seen it combined well with real sex in a way that feels authentic and this hits all those marks. I mean, would I write about a scene I didn't love? (No, I would not.)

It's definitely very early Aeryn material, but time traveling back almost five years in her career is wonderful, if you're also a fan. For those who don't know, she's the woman behind Naughty Nerdy, two words she certainly lives up to. We see both in "I.M. in Love" - when the scene begins, she's playing Dungeons and Dragons with her real-life lover (at the time) Theo Dalton. They start up a Skype chat, and we are able to see both what they say and their reactions. The sexting is hot and playful - the kind you would love to have with your significant other - and masterfully illustrates how the written word can convey its own special brand of eroticism. (Heyyy oh, high five to all my writers.) 

Spoiler alert: Eventually, we see that Aeryn and Theo are really in the same room, playfully chatting each other from about ten feet away. When the cyber sex turns into real sex  in the extended scene, it's just as imbued with that sense of authenticity (and heat) that their chat conversation had - the scene is shot in real time, and all the natural readjustments, laughs, and bits of dialogue are left. Aeryn even pulls out a Hitachi during cowgirl, which is one of my favorite things to see in film.

It doesn't take you out of the moment, though. Both performers command their bodies with confidence and their enthusiasm is damn sexy.  

The only thing I wish I had seen in the extended version of this was a little bit more dirty talk - only because that is the base of sexting, and shown why words are so hot in person, too. But I digress - it is very likely a matter of personal taste. 

One of the main reasons I love watching real couples have sex is because of the intimacy. It's not that I think all porn should be that way - after all, porn is performance art - but that while you're watching them, you can imagine them having sex in real life. It somehow makes the whole thing seem a little naughtier. 

And we all know I'm into that.
