Only in Florida: The Grunting Isn’t Coming from the Court

In my column Only in Florida, I'll be taking you down to the Sunshine State for the latest and greatest sex stories that can only be found in the craziest state in the union.

If one was blinded and someone started playing video from any game of tennis, one might be able to figure out what they were listening to. There is a fair amount of grunting, screaming, and moaning involved in the game of tennis, but those sounds are also associated with many other sports, jobs, and hobbies. During the Sarasota Open last week, there seemed to be a little more grunting than normal going. While play was stopped, everyone noticed, and I do mean everyone, because the grunting wasn't tennis related but sex related.

The back and forth grunting stopped for a moment and Frances Tiafoe could serve to Mitchell Krueger, but he paused after hearing that certain sound. Both players shared a priceless reaction as did just about everyone else on the court and in the stands. At first, the commentator believed it was a video playing on someone's phone, but later it was discovered that it was actually two people having sex in a nearby apartment. How they discovered this fact, I just don't know, though I'd really like to know. 

Honestly, I kind of think they should include more sounds of people having sex in tennis games. They can make another game out of it by having people try to guess if the sound is from the court or from the sex. Plus, there's the whole hitting balls and the back and forth nature of tennis.
