Gabourey Sidibe Talks About Being a Phone Sex Worker in Her New Memoir

Curvy TV/movie star Gabourey Sidibe has a new memoir out "This Is Just My Face: Try Not To Stare" that comes out on May 1st and I am so sure that I am going to be reading it. I love her in everything I have seen her in, especially her performance on "American Horror Story: Coven" and she has never shied away giving 100 percent on screen.

Glamour has a big excerpt from her new book and its about the job she had while she auditioned for the movie that made her famous - "Precious" which was a gig as a phone sex line operator making $15 an hour. 

It's a pretty amazing read where Sidibe shares how all of the women working taking the calls were supposed to pretend to be white (sad) since the callers were predominantly white men, how she learned to stall men on the line to keep them there longer to make the calls cost more, the rules about what she wasn't allowed to talk about and how she has had acting roles that were way more demeaning that that phone sex gig. I love her.
