“The Stewardesses: 3D”

EDITORIAL FEATURES

It's hard to believe that "The Stewardesses" grossed over a hundred million dollars (in today's money) as claimed on the website for its current release project, but what do we know—we were barely sentient when it was first shown in theaters back in 1969. Still, we're looking forward to seeing this retro classic restored to big-screen glory later this year; in the meantime, we're more than happy to amuse ourselves with the 3D stills gallery, providing we can find that pair of anaglyph glasses we have lying around here somewhere. (They seem to come in handy more often than we expect.)

Update A Boing Boing reader who saw one of the versions of the movie in 1970 says the 3D glasses used for the original of "The Stewardesses" were "polarized, not anaglyphic" (though the stereo frames from the movie on the website require anaglyphic glasses) and adds, "Some of the 3D was really good, such as when a micro-miniskirted girl leaned over a pool table to make her sho". (PS - you can send away for a free pair of anaglyph viewing glasses here.) Thanks Mike!
