We've seen a lot of badly designed websites over the years here at Fleshbot (we do write about porn, after all)—but French glamour and art nude photographer Frederic Peche's is definitely one to remember: the text-heavy layout has all the sexiness and verve of the minutes from your local zoning board meeting. In fact, it's so badly designed and unappealing that we're not really sure how we managed to find the photos at all; good thing that "Portfolio" is one of the three or four French words we remember. But we're glad we stuck around, because Peche's photos are pretty hot. And at the end of the day, isn't that what really matters? Come on, it's not like you're going to jack it to good web design. Or at least most of you won't, anyway.

"America Swings": We Like To Share

Hey, America. Do you like to swing? Of course you do—because everyone knows that even though we like to pretend we're all prim and proper, our nation is really just one big wife-swapping freak fest! Well, one photographer got tired of hearing about it and decided to prove it: Naomi Harris, who took a behind the scenes look at the porn industry a couple of years ago, headed out into the vast unknown wilderness of that places called "Middle America" (you know, that big empty spot between the two oceans) and came back with a new book of photographs documenting average folks who lead somewhat non-average sex lives. She even went so far as to hang out in the nude with her subjects in order to get pictures of these wildcats in their natural habitat! The book will be released by Taschen in the fall, which means we may have to wait a few months before finding out the answer to this question: if this country is filled with an army of hidden swingers, then how come nobody is watching "Swingtown"? (Oh, right ... they're probably too busy with that other stuff.)

Deep Inside "Phone Sex" Operators: "It Is My Job To Indulge Their Fantasy"

It would have been too easy for photographer Phillip Toledano simply to have taken pictures of phone sex operators, assembled them into book form, and called it a day: after all, even the most enthusiastic of phone sex fans must be aware on some level of the disconnect between the fantasy they're creating with whoever's on the other end of the line and the reality of what that person is really like, and a bunch of images that just illustrated that concept visually over and over again would've gotten boring pretty quickly. What makes Toledano's "Phone Sex" so interesting, though, is that that he gives each of his subjects an opportunity to discuss their careers in their own words—and while we could've done without the free verse formatting the tales they have to tell are pretty fascinating, from observations that phone sex is just another form of customer service to one woman's story about a particular fantasy one of her callers had involving some undigested asparagus. But we'll let you read that one for yourself.

Waxing Nostalgic With Sabine Schoenberger

According to the title of one of her online portfolios, German photographer Sabine Schoenberger apparently feels nostalgia for many things—especially things that involve vintage lingerie and exposed nipples. Funny, that's the exact same stuff we get all misty-eyed about too! Especially when the lingerie and nipples happen to be connected to models as lovely as the ones Schoenberger gets to work with. Actually, they don't make us misty-eyed so much as ... well, let's just say it's not our eyes that are feeling moist all of a suddden.

Photographer To Naked Models: "Do It Yourself"

We're big fans of the DIY ethic, mostly because whenever our bosses ask us to stay a little late and put in some extra work our response is usually, "Do it yourself!" But there's a different kind of DIY that we're also fans of, and it's in the same style as the homemade self-sufficient photography that made MySpace famous. Photographer Uwe Ommer devoted a whole book to the self-shot naked portrait, helping his models to create nude photographs that they snapped on their own. Ommer obviously lent a helping hand with the setup and lighting, so the results are miles above the pouty-look-in-the-mirror snapshots that are a staple of social networking profile pics. But the concept remains the same—leave a beautiful girl alone with a camera and see what she can create. We don't want to ruin the surprise for you, but it's pretty hot.

Lost In Lust: Cherise Isis' "American Stripper"

We'd like to say that the photos that comprise photographer Cherise Isis' recent "American Stripper" exhibition at Peer Gallery in New York City were more than just shots of hot topless dancers wrapping themselves around poles—you know, that they made some sort of Grand Statement about the way women were commodified by the voyeuristic gaze of an audience and that they offered a glimpse into the often sordid underbelly of certain kinds of sex work. But the truth is that most of these action portraits are a lot more gentle in their grainy soft-focus dreaminess (even when they show strippers lighting their boobs on fire); the occasional smile peeks out from the sea of arched backs and heavy-lidded eyes and several of the dancers don't appear to have slid to the bottom of the poles in question so much as to have floated there, lost in their own private reveries of desire and exhaustion like spent muses at the end of a long shift. Guess they really are more than just shots of hot topless dancers after all.

All About Aprella, Renaissance Woman

We've had a crush on the lovely Aprella for several years now. But what with her busy schedule of modeling, performing, appearing in video games, and speaking out for Amnesty International, and our busy schedule of, uh, watching porn, it's been a little hard to schedule a sitdown with her. Finally, though, after years of lusting after this multitalented powerhouse, we were able to grab her attention and get her to answer some questions. Our interview—as well as a gallery of photos so you can better understand exactly why we've been crushing on her all this time—after the jump.

Fleshbot: Back in 2005 we named you one of our Top Ten Hotties of the year. Has your life changed much in the years since we honored you—and if so, what's changed?
Aprella: Yes you did, and I'd like to take the time here to say "Thank You!"

My life is always changing and evolving. In the past three years I've worked all over the world from doing runway shows in France and screaming backup vocals in Italy to doing Fashion Week in LA and swinging high on aerial swing in my home town NYC. I like to keep my career and life moving. In 2007 I worked at least one week of every month out of the country. I love life on the go.

FB: You've been an artist's model, a nude model, a dancer, a singer, an actress, an activist, and probably even more things that we forgot to list. How do you make time for it all?
A: I just follow my heart and try to make the best choices I can for myself. Unfortunately I don't get enough sleep. The usual is 4 hrs or less a night.

FB: Where did you get your start as a model? Did you start as photographer's model and branch out into other areas, or did you follow a different path?
A: I was always interested in the art of photography. While snooping about camera equipment one day a photographer asked to take a test shoot of me. He then turned it over to an agency and it turned out that I was a look they needed. I was then booked for fashion runway shows and fashion editorial shoots. As I got more involved I discovered the world of couture high fashion and have since been hooked.

FB: How did you decide to model nude? Is the experience of nude modeling substantially different from modeling with your clothes on?
A: I strive to create more artistic looks with my work. I wouldn't call myself a nude model having almost never done a fully nude shoot. When I have done fully nude I am almost always covered with body painting giving the illusion that I am clothed.

With my modelling work I'm trying to create images that cause an inspired reaction be they nude and covered in body paint or beautiful high fashion. If I look at a photo and see nudity before I see creativity it's a nothing photo for me. I'm far more turned on by art clothed or not.

FB: Do you have any favorite stories from your years of modeling? Any photographers you love working with?
A: One of the funniest moments I've had as a model has to be when I was working with Gene Simmons of Kiss fame. Gene and I were in Times Square on top of The Hard Rock Café to do press for his show "Gene Simmons and The Family Jewels" Gene out of nowhere took my hand and made me grab his ass while he looked all coy with his finger over his lips for the cameras. Then the next day it was all over the celebrity gossip television show "EXTRA."

Every photo shoot and runway show carries its bag of fun memories for me. I love the people I work with and I have to mention one of my best friends, photographer River Clark as being my favorite person to do a photo shoot with.

FB: If you had to choose just one of the many areas you work in to focus on, what would it be?
A: I really wish I could pick just one thing to focus on. I'm always so jealous of those that have that one thing they love to do and they stick to it. Like my partner David Stoupakis. He's good at everything he attempts in the art world but he's known since he was a kid that he wants to be a painter and that's what he focuses on every day. For me it's just not that easy; in fact I'd say it's impossible for me to pick one area to focus on. So I guess I just focus on following my heart for a living.

FB: Do you have any upcoming projects Fleshbot readers should know about?
A: Zillions! I'll be home in NYC this Summer doing art sittings for Dr. Sketchy's and Runway shows with some local NYC lines. The charmingly antiquated phrase "boudoir photography" usually conjures up slightly tacky images of marabou-trimmed negligees and overstuffed satin pillows: the Sears portraits of erotic photography, if you will. But that doesn't describe the work of Eddie Ostrowski, whose photos you may recognize from those Gawker Artists banners that pop up on this site every once in a while (and which is how his work came to our attention). Bringing talent and technique to the endeavor of taking sexy photographs, Ostrowski makes the genre of boudoir photography actually seem, well, classy. If they keep this up, we might just have to subscribe. Or at least start stealing copies from our big sister. (It is a naked babe mag and not one that usually features boring stuff like fashion, right?)

Everything You Wanted To Know About "Sex: How To Do Everything"

Given the fact that we here at Fleshbot try to cover as many bases as possible—and despite that first person plural voice we insist on using most of the time—it's not too surprising that our editorial staff finds itself experiencing a difference of opinion every now and then. (For example: some of us crave the newfangled taste of a ass smoothie, while others are only satisfied by a classic dirtpipe milkshake). Our latest object of disagreement is the new coffee table extravaganza by "self-proclaimed Emily Posts of the modern bedroom" Em and Lo, "Sex: How To Do Everything", and not just because we fought amongst ourselves for a first look when the review copy arrived at Fleshbot Central: while some of us were immediately won over by the beautiful pictures and lovely layout, others were left a little limp on the whole project. Read some of our pros and cons (and get a peek at some of those photos) after the jump.

Pro: With page after page of beautiful photography by celebrated British erotica/fashion photographer Rankin and a nicely designed layout, this is a sex-related coffee table book that's actually sexy. You might even be tempted to leave it on your coffee table when company comes over—which, given the sad state of sex education in this country, would probably be a good thing.

Con: Those photos might be beautiful and all, but despite some attempt at racial diversity they get pretty homogenous after a while (and not just because everyone is heterosexual): the models are uniformly young and pretty and slender, and we know there are more than just young and pretty and slender people who have sex. It's like overdosing on an endless lowfat Pinkberry sundae: all that trendy, bland sweetness can get pretty cloying. Give us those dumpy, hairy hippies in "The Joy Of Sex" any day.

Pro: It's a fun read. Em and Lo have made their names with friendly and honest advice, so it's no surprise that their signature tone and sense of humor is present in this book. If you somehow thought that sex books always had to be dry, boring, and technical, this is a book to change your mind.

Con: About those pictures again? Playful as they are, they're also pretty darn tepid for a sex manual: there are naked boobs galore, but except for a purely anatomical shot or two you have to look long and hard for a glimpse of a dick—never mind a hard dick or even the barest hint of penetration. We know they're aiming for "tasteful", but a sex book without actual sex in it starts looking sort of like an American Apparel catalog. (Minus the apparel, of course.)

Pro: It's extensive. After so many years in the sex advice business, Em and Lo have amassed a lot of expertise about what makes people tick (and moan and sigh), and they share a tremendous amount of that knowledge here. With nine detailed sections, they leave almost no stone unturned. Hey, a book that devotes an entire section to handjobs and an exhaustive guide to the different kinds of sex toys on the market these days must have something to teach you.

Con: Encyclopaedic as it might be, it's hard to tell just exactly who this book is supposed to be for. If you're already sexually active, it's unlikely you're going to interrupt a session with your (probably white and slender) partner to look up a new position or learn how to put on a condom, and if you're not already having sex with someone ... well, wouldn't a book like this be sort of frustrating and/or besides the point? And as for people on either side of that fence who just want a resource for general sex advice and resources: there's this cool thing called the interweb where you can look up pretty much anything you like (including plenty of Em & Lo's archived material), won't cost you $25, and won't get sticky when you spill lube all over it. (Unless you spill it on your keyboard, in which case you're probably beyond the help of whatever a book like this could tell you anyway.)

So there you have it. Now excuse us while we get back to arguing about who gets to take the book home with them over the weekend. (Hey, at least we agreed that the pictures were pretty.)

Time Out's Naked New Yorkers: This Could Have Been You

This week's issue of urban go-getter guide Time Out New York is the "Horny Issue", and to commemorate the rebirth of spring or whatever they put out an open call for people to pose au naturel in the magazine. Apparently everyone took them on it, so they selected seven hopeful naked superstars-to-be (both guys and gals), let them pick the location and theme for their shoot, and then had wonderboy photographer Ryan Pfluger capture their parts for posterity.

But wait, there's more! The Time Out folks have also posted pictures of several dozen other New Yorkers who also want to take their clothes off for a magazine but somehow haven't figured out how to submit their pictures to Hustler. This time, though, they're giving you a chance to vote for your favorite and maybe get to see your favorite yoga instructor or record store clerk completely starkers in a future issue. Come on, when was the last time you voted in an election that really mattered?

Modern Citizen Photographs Model Citizens (In The Nude)

Nicola Serra Photography: Not Your Ordinary Nudes

Yes, we know what you're thinking: "Ho-hum, another Fleshbot post featuring some tasteful, tepid European art nude and/or 'glamour' photographer. What happened to all that freaky Japanese stuff you used to talk about?" (Do we know you like a book or what?) Well before you get all antsy and click over to the next post, take some time to browse through photographer Nicola Serra's small but choice portfolio of erotic delights. Unlike some erotic photographers who are all boobs all the time, Serra seems to have a particular penchant for taking pictures of beautiful buttocks as well, and his portraits are suffused with a delicious erotic tension whether his models are wearing silly animal masks or bound with duct tape. Even his blog of recent work scrolls ~~vertically~~ horizontally instead of up and down like every other photography blog we've seen. See? We told you he was different!

FiLH: A Place With A Lot Of Photos Of Hot Naked Chicks

FiLH modestly describes itself as "a place with a lot of photos"; lucky for us (and you!), some of those photos happen to feature some hot naked chicks. And not just any old naked chicks, either: click through the "De Sexe" section and you'll find naked chicks wrapped in chains, tied up in ropes, making out with other naked chicks, and sticking dildos in their various naked chick parts. Granted, the photos are all very arty (read: always black and white and frequently blurry), but if you're into that sort of thing you won't be disappointed. Swedish Fetish (And We Don't Mean Your Thing For Leggy Blondes)

That's right, Swedish Fetish is not a book about people who get turned on Ikea sofas or delicious little meatballs or eating delicious little meatballs while sitting on Ikea sofas (although maybe some of the people photographed here do get their kicks that way)—instead, it's a photographic look at the fetish scene in Sweden. Compiled over two years by photographer Andrea Belluso, these beautiful photos capture everyday Swedish folks enjoying their favorite pastimes, whether it's skin-tight latex uniforms or shibari bondage or just sitting around being looking sexy, which is something many Swedish people do very well. Maybe you didn't think the Swedes were into the kinky stuff, but just because their furniture is easily assembled that doesn't mean their sex lives have to be.

Sometimes you really have to stop and appreciate the little things in life — and by little things, of course, we mean body parts that are smaller than a pair of inflated DD boobs. We've often wondered why so many photographers we feature here have portfolios full of scantily clad models in environments where you wouldn't expect to find scantily clad models: lost out in the fields, traipsing through the forests, posing prettily among the sand dunes ... But finally, we've been presented with a logical explanation: they're feral lingerie models, photographed in their natural habitat. Which, quite frankly, is a relief. Here we were thinking all this time it was just a bunch of sadistic art directors getting off on forcing girls to scuff up their Mahnolos and tear their stockings walking through the brush!

No Love Lost: Photographs By Michael Grieve

It's hard to take a picture on a porn set or backstage at a strip club and not have it look like a lot of work we've seen before, particularly when so many artists and photographers have been mining this same territory for years now. That said, UK photographer Michael Grieves attempts to depict these "increasingly entwined and performative worlds of pornography, prostitution and stripping" via his own unique perspective: "'No Love Lost' does not attempt to be a statistical documentation but works as a lyrical documentary metaphor in a factual world about real fictional encounters and conveys a sense of the difficulties of meaningful human connection in spiritually vacant environments." OK, so maybe calling the adult entertainment world "spiritually vacant" isn't exactly a unique concept, but several of his photos do manage to convey a certain tenderness for their subject matter despite their ostensible detachment. (And at the very least we learned that there exists what seems to be a thriving porn industry in Peterborough, UK. Who knew?)

The Adventures Of Captain Outrageous: Ladyboys Ho!

As exotic as it might sound, the life of a Thailand-based photographer who specializes in taking pictures of cute ladyboys isn't that much different from that of erotic photographers anywhere: like many of his colleagues, Captain Outrageous has to deal with occasionally temperamental models and shooting porn in less than ideal circumstances. Unlike many of his colleagues, however, the good Captain sometimes finds himself sponsoring boob jobs for his models too: "Three and a half! In each case I have paid up for someone I cared about ... The half, by the way, was for a ladyboy who only had 50 percent of the cost of the operation. I told her she would look silly with one tit, so I gave her the balance as a birthday present." (Given the prevalence of boob jobs in the non-ladyboy glamour model population, though, maybe the Captain's unique brand of charity isn't so different either.)

Monica Mattos is a busy girl. Ever since the Brazilian dark-haired beauty received her AVN trophy for Best Foreign Female Performance, she hasn't stopped working. She is a sweet and well-mannered girl who loves to get fucked in the ass on film; one of the infinite versions of the Brazilian Girl Next Door, and a happy one at that. She won't tell you which directors she's worked for and which movies that she's made that week, but what she will tell you is that she's single again and goes on enthusiastically about the interviews that she's been giving on the Brazilian version of David Letterman, something that a porn star has never done in this country, which gives her a good reason to think about leaving for the first time for Hollywood, the land of Jenna Jameson and book deals and better implants.

We took her to see a Burlesque show at Loveland, a club in a swanky part of Sao Paulo, far away from where she now lives, in a working-class district with her mother. She had never set foot in the place, or in the neighborhood. We gave her her first Cosmopolitan and the stripper asked to pose for pictures with her.

Then we went to her old neighborhood downtown to drink beer in a filthy lesbian bar, where the waitress passed her notes from delirious fans and many a drink was bought for her. She doesn't pretend to be nice to them, to you, or to anyone, she won't offer you anything other than that radiant smile and her beautiful ass. She's one of the most sincere people that we've ever met.

We bought more beer from the bodega on the corner and took photos of her on the stairways above the freeway, with people hanging out of the windows of the apartment buildings, and we made friends with the Mafioso skater boys that populate Roosevelt Square benches at night, where people fuck quietly and smoke joints while staring out at a Sao Paulo's non-existent skyline and listening to the traffic moan loudly beneath us. The city's huge curves and lights mirrored Monica's own in other dimensions, pulling her skirt over her ass, her two cell phones ringing the whole time, reveling in her pure and newfound pleasure in being single and alive at night in the city where she was born. She is Sao Paulo's Prom Queen.

But then she had to go, to catch the last train back to her mother's house on the other side of town, where she's living since she divorced her husband three months ago. We took one last photo, of her in the metro station, and kissed her on both cheeks and made plans to do it again next week.

The poses themselves aren't necessarily "fetishy" in the way we usually define it, but they do match the "fetish spirit" that he aims to pay tribute to. German Fashion Magazines Do It Better (And Nakeder)

There's no need to rehash the point, but occasionally we are forced to remember the painful truth that Europeans are way cooler than we are. Well, in one particularly area anyway—their delightful freewheeling stance on female nudity in the media. Take GQ magazine, for one example. The online American version can be a tedious slog through celebrity profiles and long treatises on silk suits, while the German version is one of the best places on the web to find free photos of naked Eurobabe models. As we recently discovered, the site has an entire section devoted to erotic glamour photography featuring work by many well-known photographers, like old Fleshbot favorites Alexander Paulin, Fabio Borquez, Gavin O'Neill and others. Sure the text is in German, but who cares about German celebrities and silk suits?
