We have our doubts about these supposedly unused "Playboy Pics," but let's just pretend it really is her. It's refreshing to see Marilyn look a little more Norma Jeane, but still be naked.

As much as we'd like to do more research into these photographs, we'd prefer to just believe in the magic of Monroe. It's like our version of the Monroe Doctrine. Except instead of preventing European expansionist ideals from tampering with the Americas, we're preventing reality from disrupting a good, ol' timey wank.

Vintage 8mm reels purporting to show Marilyn Monroe in various states of sexual congress have been the subject of fevered speculation for years now, and while someday a clip might surface that offers incontestable proof that Norma Jean Baker did indeed wind up on a casting couch or two on her way to Hollywood superstardom we can definitely tell you that this ain't it. What it is, however, is a fun little faux-vintage clip of some chick in a blonde Marilyn-style wig giving some lucky headless gent a very enthusiastic blowjob—and a possibly brilliant marketing ploy on the part of a fledgling UK-based video sharing site to get us to link to them again. When we heard about that Marilyn Monroe blowjob movie yesterday we remembered seeing a clip from another vintage stag film allegedly starring Marilyn Monroe way back in our early web browsing days—you know, when it took us seven hours to download it via a poky AOL dialup connecton. We're pretty sure it's not the same one that was sold to a New York businessman for $1.5 million recently since the descriptions don't match: it's only 6 minutes long instead of fifteen, and its blonde star does pretty much everything (including play with a nifty vintage vibrating device) except give a blowjob. And there are several parts in it where the woman in the film always struck us as being a little too blowsy to be Marilyn herself, though that telltale mole is there and there's been additional forensic evidence over the years that "proves" it really is her.

Of course, the interweb has made it easy for any connoisseur of vintage Playboy spreads to amass a top-notch photography collection that's only limited by the amount of free space on a hard drive. But for those collectors who want something a little more permanent—and have several thousand dollars to spare—Hef and company introduced the Playboy Legacy Collection at the Cannes International Film Festival last week. The collection consists of 48 gallery-quality images representing the "visual history and impact of the magazine" from Tom Kelley's classic 1953 shot of Marilyn Monroe to Pamela Anderson as seen by David LaChapelle and are available individually, in three 16-photo sets, or as one 48-piece Gold Edition which also includes five music CDs, a DVD set, a book, a replica of an original Playboy Club key, and an invitation to an exclusive weekend party at the Playboy Mansion to celebrate the launch of the collection ... all for the low price of $85,000. (Which means that we'll be able to afford a copy circa 2148, given our current rate of savings and assuming they'll be any copies left by then. In the meantime, though, there's still the interweb.)
