The overarching structure of "Stripped" makes it look like videos from naughty couples' therapy sessions. Each participant feels unfulfilled by his/her relationship, and sex is the only medium for righting those wrongs. That's a sentiment we can agree with.

Every scene starts out with a girl pouring her heart out, confessing disappointment, terror, neglect, or abuse, and as you empathize with the girl, the sex that follows feels incredibly intimate and draws you in. This isn't always a happy experience, but it's definitely unique and exciting.

Without a doubt, Raven Alexis is the main attraction. Her highschool sweetheart-turned-husband doesn't validate her sexually, barely touches her, and never brings her to orgasm. Raven is a decent actor (as are all the players in "Stripped") so her frustration and fear jump out from the very beginning. As they melt into lust, she strips and masturbates until someone—not the husband—comes into frame and treats her right. The whole experience is tender, sensual, yet not without vigor. There's even something intimate about the cumshot: rather than standing above her as he beats off, he lies on his back and she places her head on his stomach. They even kiss after she swallows.

Later in the film, Raven comes back—looking healthier and happier—to discuss her fantasy about sex with another woman. Dia Zerva ties her to the bed and takes her through the motions sooooooo sloooooowly, from tongue to dildo to strap-on to screaming orgasm. It's one of the most delayed, delicious lesbian scenes ever, and it's probably the most sex-positive communion in the film.

Kiara Diane and Mr. Pete finish the film with a straightforward couplet: she questions whether it's ok to have one-night stands, and he shows up for a quick fuck. But it isn't night, so that's good. Plus, she makes him come twice, so they must really like each other.

The two most interesting scenes, in my opinion, are the most disturbing ones. First, Ashley Roberts and her husband come in to discuss their lackluster sex life. She wants their relationship to be like it used to be, he wants more quickies and blowjobs, and neither of them get anything because they're too busy and have a child. They try just what Raven did, and things are going well, and then during the blowjob it all ends. He can't get hard, she gets pissed, and they get a divorce the following week. HA!

The other scene is much more challenging. Jennifer Dark plays a young woman from the Czech Republic (she is a young woman from the Czech Republic, by the way) with some marital issues. She met her American husband back home, and at first he was a wonderful, generous, and considerate man. After he brought her to the States, he locked her up inside his home. It isn't clear if she ends up stripping or prostituting, but she has to use her body to promote his gambling addiction. Of course, he punishes her when she doesn't earn enough money. The sex, it seems, is the worst part; he abuses her body, takes advantage of her, and "makes [her] feel sick."

In less than five minutes, you're flooded with the confessions of a broken woman. No one comes out and says the words, "sex slave," but the conditions are all there. She even delivers part of her interview in Czech, adding another level of realism and displacement to the tone. She doesn't know what she's going to do, but she mentions suicide. And then her husband shows up and they have sex.

If it weren't for a few lines from Joey Brass, this would look just like any other fuck session. Even then, what he says only seems possessive and dominating in the normal porno sense. "Who owns this pussy?" is not an unusual phrase.

I really don't know what to think about this. Are we encouraged to or allowed to enjoy this scene? Should we even be able to? Maybe the filmmaker is willing to talk about marital rape and sexual abuse, but not willing to show it. Whether that's cowardice or restraint is up for questioning. Alternately, porn is the perfect medium for allowing people to project their fantasies—however brutal or ridiculous—into a safe, controlled environment. Maybe the whole point is to allow viewers to take on this misogynist fantasy and enjoy it for its taboo. Or maybe it's a comment on the degrading and selfish depiction of sex in all pornography. I have no idea. Nonetheless, it's fantastic that "Stripped" presents these issues and ambiguities. There should be more porn like this.

Laurent's newest creation is "Sex on Set," starring Mikayla Mendez, Alektra Blue, Jennifer Dark, Sativa Rose, and Tiffany Tyler— along with Danny Mountain, Marco Banderas, Mick Blue, and Tommy Gunn. As you can see, he still has an eye for picking top notch talent.

As in the past, Laurent gives extreme attention to detail in this lush, high-end wall-to-wall, slaying us with both amazing girls and brilliant visuals.

Sativa Rose is one sexy ass bitch. With a single glance she seduces the camera, drawing us in. By the time she's stripped down and riding hard cock we're ready to blow our tops and so much more.

Alektra Blue also turns in a stand out performance. There is something she possesses, some undetermined quality beyond just her extraordinary physical beauty and unrelenting sexual prowess, that always leaves us wanting more. Watching her copulate is like drinking ambrosia mixed with unicorn blood from that pimped out golden chalice Indiana Jones chose in the Last Crusade.

Faithless

"Faithless" is not a feel-good movie, unless movies like "In the Bedroom" were fun for you. But it is full of uncomfortable situations and vigorous sex that you know meant something for the performers.

"Faithless" opens with Calli (McCarty) primping for a performance; the performance is makeup sex with poor, muddled Nico (Voodoo). Turning on the waterworks (as this is not a squirting movie, it must be pointed out that the waterworks are from her eyes), Calli gets Nico right where she wants him, which is to be discovered by her husband, Danny (Steven St. Croix), and Nico's girlfriend in her carnal embrace. Was it worth it, Voodoo?

It all started innocently enough. Calli is Danny's trophy wife, hated by his daughter, Sarah, played by Daisy Marie. Nico comes up to the cabin in the mountains to be with Sarah but her dad, proud of his hot new wife, shows her off to his daughter's beau. It proves to be Danny's undoing.

Already there are more elements to this porn movie, more setup and plot, more credible situations, than others. Naturally Sarah hates her stepmom, naturally Nico's buddy, James Deen, wants in on Sarah, naturally Sarah overhears all this exposition.

And then there are Danny's best friend Simon (Herschel Savage) and his own trophy wife Terry (Kelly Leigh). Simon is a sad sack whose wife and best friend waste no time availing each other of her fellatio skills.

But despite the family tension and Simon's dire warning to Nico that he hopes Danny doesn't own a shotgun, Nico and Sarah do manage to steal away to a bucolic spot and go fishing. Ass fishing.

But the idyll doesn't last. Calli has captured Nico's heart, you see, and back in L.A. she calls him, having stolen his number from her stepdaughter's phone. The cad, he comes right over. But she is playing mind games with him.

"I just wanted to see if you'd come," she says, leaving.

But lest you think Calli is the fly in the ointment, Sarah, too, seems particularly prone to unhingement. We end up feeling sorry for Danny, even though we know that he, too, is a filthy adulterer. Of particular resonance is a scene where Danny and Calli try to get their groove on but daughter Sarah keeps interrupting, asking for cash. The viewer is left wondering who he wants to hate or fuck more.

Until finally we are left with a portrait of Danny as a guy who finds crazy women comforting (at least that's what I got out of it). After a landmark rape-in-so-many-words scene that stands in for an argument between the married couple, Danny then goes to his old standby, Terry, for a top-off. By this point we're rooting for no one.

And when, loopy as she is, Calli ties all the loose ends together, we see her scorched-earth logic. You're looking at the generic boxcover and thinking, "Are we talking about the same movie?"

In Hollywood, February is traditionally the month in which all the also-ran movies are released. But, much as I am loathe to say it so soon after January's AVN awards, "Faithless" is my choice to clean up next year; its themes of Women Are Unstable, Men Are Assholes really looks like America these days. And I would give Kelli McCarty and Steven St. Croix acting trophies, because it's hard to focus during a rape.

Nymphetamine

In fact, fans of Ninn will rejoice, for there is no mistaking "Nymphetamine" for anyone else's movie.

Angular, high-heeled, and haughty pornstresses make their way across floodlit sets littered with oversize spheres and reflecting pools and have their stylish ways with one another. With a little less digital penetration and a sepia filter the whole movie could be an Obsession ad, but for one new tool in Ninn's post-production portfolio.

Ninn seems obsessed with bullet-time, the slow-mo, pan, and speedup technique made famous by "The Matrix" trilogy and refined by "The 300." It was Ninn's porn version of the latter movie for a soured partnership with the gentlemen's club chain Spearmint Rhino, "The Four," that seems to be the inspiration for this kinder, gentler, plotless, and manless vignette film.

While "The Four" languishes in legal limbo, "Nymphetamine" works within a sparser landscape and just has porn women doing what they do best under such conditions, and looking icy and inaccessible doing it. We assume they're having a good time, but I doubt we will see any of Porn's current crop of big, sloppy barmaids sploshing lustily in their belly rolls in "Nymphetamine 2."

And this singularity of vision is what makes Ninn an artist. Of course the likes of Georgia Jones, Faye Reagan, Jana Cova (formerly of Digital Playground), and Jana Jordan (formerly of ... NinnWorx) would only be found picking their way among severe and whitewashed three-dimensional shapes - they are the embodiments of better girl/girl sex through geometry, and "Nymphetamine" is the perfect movie to have playing in the waiting room of your edgy architect's office - it's like "The Fountainhead" with trim, flush labia.

We're happy to have you back, Michael Ninn. But just once I'd like to see someone like Sara Vandella get nailed on a pallet of Carl's Jr. Six Dollar Burgers in one of your movies.

Fallen

"Yes. Right in that little fuckhole," says Jenna Haze in the opening scene of Fallen, a guardian angel-out-of-grace tale from Wicked. But I don't think it's relevant to the story.

drake plays Haze's guardian angel, and when Haze dies in a freak elevator crash, drake feels guilty for screwing up at work. You see, Haze's boyfriend, played by Armstrong, was going to ask her to marry him that night, but Haze decided to go home instead—via elevator.

While it is not lost on this turtlenecked cineaste that Haze dying while going down is a metaphor for angels in general and the state of porn in particular, what is odd is that drake, a supernatural being, gets stuck behind a locked apartment building door.

"It was my job to protect her," drake says, a feather falling to her pointy white angel boots. "And I failed."

This was four years ago, and drake has been fired. Still immortal, she drifts toward the dark side, feeling no love "from above."

Can she be redeemed? Will she turn her back on heaven? That is the theme of Fallen, and not the theme of Dirtpipe Milkshakes 2.

drake visits the seedy, smoky, and dimly lit (a Wicked trademark) fleshpots of Los Angeles after musing prettily atop a building with the L.A. skyline behind her.

Poor drake. Now that she is no longer an angel, the cops think she is a hooker. But then she meets Armstrong, the former boyfriend of dead Jenna Haze. He is a bike messenger now, and they bump into each other when he spills coffee on her. Another metaphor for what he will eventually spill on her? You're goddamn right.

But lonelyhearts Armstrong is the innocent side of drake's new life. She still needs to purge herself of the fleshly temptations she has enjoyed since her wings were clipped. She stops by Jennifer Dark's house to watch her getting reamed.

Finally she goes on a date with Brad. At his house she notices a photo of Haze, her lost charge. She freaks out.

"I took the stairs for months after that," Armstrong says. "Even after they fixed {the elevator}."

The coincidence is all too weird for the fallen angel. She returns to a life of debauchery, blowing Herschel Savage on his cab, inserting things into Angie Savage, and saying things like "it's all too weird."

Fallen sometimes bows under the weight of its own earnestness, and the dialogue at times falls flat, but both drake and Armstrong acquit themselves nicely to a script that leaves lots of room to make her look glamorous, him look sensitive and easygoing, and us believe there is a God who lets His ex-employees go to orgies and stick dildoes in Angie Savage.

The movie resolves in a twist ending. I don't know if couples actually watch porn together or if that is a myth, but Fallen proves itself to be a satisfying and well-shot high-end porn with a moral: don't step into an elevator after saying "fuckhole."

The latest movie by Sex Z Pictures' director Eli Cross of "Upload" fame, "Icon" is what the porn world knows as a "high-end vignette" picture, where the setups are a little more complex than Pool Guy Drops Trunks, Load.

From what we were able to determine as we ourselves stood on that roof, "Icon" features Scott as an A-Ha-by-way-of Xtina alternate reality warrior who pulls similarly underdressed women (including Jennifer Dark, Tori Black, and Morgan Layne) through a mirror to have sex with them on a four-poster bed on a roof at three in the morning when you can see your breath as L.A. police helicopters fly overhead.

This observer was overcome with a newfound respect for porn performers who nakedly brave the testicle-receding temperature to churn out three-to-seven minute increments of fapworthy product for your delectation.

Of course, Hillary Scott has no testicles to recede, and that is exactly why I took pictures.

Fleshbot readers have proven time and again that they are up to the challenge of making sense of the gushing conundra that is porn.

Our last outing yielded so many better titles than "Wasted Youth 4" that we have no choice but to declare a three-way tie between Bleeble/G. Demadesco's "Fuck Me? Fuck You", El Guapo 42's boot musin's, and Cloudcarrier's "Fuck Me 'Til I'm Beige". Honorable mention: Zclept's capstastic "FUCK MY HATE SNATCH".

Cram and Grip Johnson (not their real last name) have created an ouevre that, I guess if you didn't know them, might make you think that they are horrible, horrible people.

"Chunky on the Fourth of July", "Revenge of the But'erFace", the foot epic "Sole Jam", "MILF Meat", "Donkey Punch", and "Cuckold" are some of their titles, each low-budget gems that are characterized by a joking and mordant back and forth between directors and cast that paints the porn world as corrupt and without hope of redemption.

"Well, it's not difficult," Grip Johnson said.

"Cuckold MILFs" grew out of the team's assiduous research into cuckolding, the fetish kind, as distinct from the actual, tragic kind, in which men get off on the humiliation of watching their wives with other men.

"While shooting 'Cuckold', Cram and I found the whole cuckold lifestyle really interesting but we wondered what happens when the hot wife gets old," Grip said.

50-year-old newbie MILF-Of-The-Moment De'Bella shows up in a scene with the male performer Jenner.

"She's great in her scene," Grip said. "And Jenner seemed to have a blast. Though he's a sick bastard."

The difference between this movie and the other "Cuckold" flicks is that this time the "the tables are turned on trophy wives", Grip said. "So they have to deal with coming home to find their husbands with younger women."

Behind the Scenes footage features Cram reassuring DeBella that fat jokes are just part of the plot.

"I told her off camera, 'This is just for the plot; you look great,' and she just had her head in her hands and said, 'No, I'm fat, I know it."

The pair's movies are often uncomfortably full of teasing.

"If we come down on the cast, " Grip said, "we are twice as self-deprecating. We admit we're losers."

Even though no one in the movie comes off looking good or morally sound, it's still porn, so viewers will be confused by why anyone would want to cheat on Carrie Ann.

A snapshot of the porn world is revealed in an AVN story about the movie by writer David Sullivan:

Take "hot" 50-year-old wife De'Bella...please. Rumored to have joined the production as a last-minute replacement, the shameless super-MILF turns in a nasty scene that will have even those who can't jack off to De'Bella filling their palms with hateful, premature spurts of jizz.

...if a news article on the adult industry's house, er, organ puts it that way, the Johnson Brothers must have their fingers on the pulse of consumer feeling.

If the Johnson Bros.' movies do not paint a rosy picture of the adult industry with their gallows humor, they also don't pretend to make it look better than it is. Consumers who respond are people with a Low Fantasy Threshold, satisfied that women having sex on film is all the fantasy they need - screw the pirates and vampires.

"Cuckold MILFs" also stars Carrie Ann ("who is looking very hot these days," Grip said), Chelsie Zinn, Kelly Leigh, Alexa Lynn, Mya Hills, Jennifer Dark, Herschel Savage, Dirty Harry, Guy DaSilva, and Steven French.

"This is the best movie ever made that isn't Will Smith's 'Hitch'," Grip said.
