We admit we've been a little lax in our obsessive stalking of Maria Ozawa, a mistake we truly regret. While we've been distracted by the other lovely ladies of the world, we've missed out on so much!

For one thing, Maria's gotten a tattoo on her back. And for another, she's somehow wound up in Taiwan (or at least the cover of FHM Taiwan). And, and—well, we're sure there's a lot of other things that have happened to her, but since we don't read Chinese (that is Chinese, right?), we're at a bit of a loss to understand it all.

FHM UK's Hot 100 2009: Cheryl Cole, Top Babe

We're always a little thrown by the fact that FHM US and FHM UK—two versions of ostensibly the same magazine—both compile their own lists of the World's Sexiest Women... and end up with different results.

Yes, we know it's all about regional preferences, but should the Sexiest Women in the World be, well, universally agreed upon (or, er, at least agreed upon globally)? We'll leave you to mull on that one for a minute.

In any case: FHM UK's list of the 100 Sexiest Women is out, and Cheryl Cole (of Girls Aloud fame) has taken the top seed. (Megan Fox, who claimed FHM US's top slot is number two.)

From what we can tell, the US list is still being compiled—but we'll be sure to let you know how the two compare.

In a somewhat surprising upset, Megan Fox—who is best known for driving a talking car or something—has outlasted the usual suspects (including the indefatigable Britney Spears, who sqeaks in at number 100 on the sympathy vote) to claim this year's crown. Now, we already know that you're probably angry that your favorite babe wasn't listed higher, or because that one chick you can't stand has no business being in the top 20. It seems odd to crow about a hardcore pornstar showing up in the softest of softcore publications, but in the bizarro world of adult entertainment you haven't really made it until you can put your clothes back on. Now, Jesse Jane isn't exactly a nobody when it comes to mainstream media—we're sure at least a few of her fans must have seen that Brad Pitt movie by mistake—but she should still be very proud of her cover shoot for the latest issue of FHM Mexico.
