Working in a Sex Monastery: "The Taunting"

It's unclear why Lystra, an underfed little naked ghost, is pursuing a couple through a monastery, all the while showing them images of bondage coitus. If it's a flashback, we don't see what the problem was. Did she die of exposure? Regardless, "The Taunting" is a very tasty - and often genuinely creepy - porn movie, that doesn't so much taunt as deliver.

The Taunting

Slutty goth and/or emo college students with no respect for the dead break into a monastery and its adjacent cemetery, stirring up a creepy naked ghost. But is it a good creepy naked ghost or a bad creepy naked ghost?

Director/co-writer Zenova Braeden and producer/co-writer Bob Johnson put together an atmospheric and at times genuinely spooky movie that has no lack of fleshy, fetishy sex throughout. One of the best things that can be said about a movie is, "Well I suppose it's plausible..." And this one is!

As the interlopers make their way through the building, they are tailed by Lystra, channeling every recent Japanese horror spirit in her erratic movements, uncombed hair, and her tendency to pop up in unexpected places.

Lystra as "The Ghost" seems to infect her prey with visions of all manner of BDSM sex until the couple, too, fall prey to it. It isn't made entirely clear why the ghost has this mission, but ours is not to question a good thing. So Yes, Gilligan, she is a good, good ghost.

"Lightning Warrior Raidy": Fun For The Whole Family, As Long As They're Over 18

We generally let our more qualified colleagues weigh in first when it comes to things like new Japanese videogames ... except for when they're bishoujo games like "Lightning Warrior Raidy" and its sequel "Temple Of Desire", which don't sound like anything else we've encountered on our Wii lately:

"The protagonist is Raidy, a high-spirited female sword-fighter traveling the continent in search of adventure and the secrets of her past. When she comes upon a town plagued by monsters who steal away the beautiful young maidens and turn them into their slaves, Raidy is determined to set things right, risking life, limb, and virginity to do battle with the denizens of the tower."

And the best part? The games are also described as featuring a " 'sex if you win, sex if you lose' game system", where you'll end up having fetish-flavored sexual congress with the heroine or evil monster of your choice no matter how well or badly you play. Try saying that about "Super Smash Bros. Brawl".

Love Death 2: Japanese Video Games Get Messy

Since video gamers never sleep (or hold down real jobs) our friends at Kotaku were still posting on Labor Day, while we, of course, were ~~full of bourbon~~ relaxing in the sun. So we nearly missed this once in a lifetime clip of erotic FPS—that's first-person, uh ... squirter—Love Death 2. The clip is helpfully translated by our Japanese correspondent, but it's actually quite clear what's going. Instead of mowing down zombies with a magnetic rail cannon, you shoot your always loaded love gun at an adorable anime character, until she gets frightened enough to run through a wall covered in sticky goo. Who knows how many points you get for that? But we assume this must be one of those choose your own adventure-style games where no matter what path you choose, you always come out a winner.
