Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "Unholy Matrimony"

What happens when you mix S-E-X with LSD? Whatever it is, you probably won't remember it after you come down, but this movie sure makes it sounds like F-U-N. Well, except for the blackmail. Always with the blackmail. Can't anyone have a drug-fueled suburban orgy without some tough guy in a cowboy hat shaking you down for a few thousand dollars? No wonder everyone has to take so much LSD before they get freaky. More »

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "She Came On The Bus"

One of the things we can never understand about all these exploitation movies from the 1960s is whether the announcers are actually trying to convince people to see them or not. After all, the only things they talk about are the shocking violence and unsettling images and the deranged characters that no sane or rational person could ever like because they're so sick and twisted. That doesn't sound like any fun! And another thing: what difference does it make if the girl in the story arrived on a bus or not? (What's that? Oh, now we get it ... ) More »

Sexploitaiton Clip Of The Week: "Come Play With Me"

We should warn you that this week's clip contains some really outlandish freaks. These are people on the "outer fringe of society"—outcasts who don't fit in with rest of us, but still manage to fascinate us with their bizarre alien-like ways. Who are these dangerous outsiders? Sexy college co-eds who occasionally make out with and spank each other! Seriously, when will the mainstream media start paying attention to their secret hidden world?

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "Meeting On 69th Street"

We've lived in New York City for some time now and weren't aware until today that there was a world famous brothel on 69th Street, which is outrageous. Shouldn't it be in all the guide books or stamped on the back of our MetroCards? We even celebrated another Fleet Week recently and despite the whole town being overrun by thousands of horny young men in uniform, we didn't overhear even one mention of anyone going that far uptown. So what gives? Is it some sort of classified military secret that only sailors have access to? We'd hate to compromise state secrets or anything, but if they just gave us a cross street we could probably figure out the rest on our own.

In A "Sex Galaxy" Not So Far Away ...

100 years in the future, when sex is illegal and the Grand Canyon is a ghetto, a group of astronauts embark on a mission that ultimately leads to self-discovery (with a fair amount of naked flesh thrown in for good measure). This labor of love sci-fi comedy exploitation film combines snippets of dozens of public domain B movies—as well as, horrifyingly, a U.S. government syphilis primer—to tell a story that stars everyone from Mamie Van Doren and Basil Rathbone to Fleshbot Crush ObjectTM Puma Swede. "Sex Galaxy" premiers at Hollywood's New Beverly Cinema June 26; check out the trailer after the gap. More »

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "Mr. Mari's Girls"

The voiceover for the trailer to "Mr. Mari's Girls" makes Mr. Mari sound like kind of a jerk: with all that violence and rape and murder, he can't be that much fun to hang around with. So why do the girls engage in clothes-tearing lesbian catfights just to join his harem? Are they (not to mention anyone who would watch this movie) actually, like ... turned on by that sort of stuff? It sounds so dirty and evil—and since when is dirty, evil sex a turn-on? Good to know that some things really have changed since 1967 ...

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "A Taste Of Hot Lead"

Now this is how you do sexploitation: Violence! Murder! Co-eds—yes, co-eds—trapped alone with horny thugs! A gingerbread house stuffed with sex! (OK, maybe the gingerbread isn't necessary, but it definitely helps.) "A Taste Of Hot Lead" is like the perfect storm of 1960's cheesy hedonistic excess ... and in color no less! Where else will you find full-frontal lesbian nudity and point-blank gunshots to the head in one film? You have to watch this, so do what you're told ... and like it.

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "The Dirty Girls"

Ah, the French. They gave us fried potatoes, fancy salad dressing, Stouffer's French Bread Pizzas and, of course, erotic cinema that goes way too far. (Way farther than those snooty British!) Think about it: it isn't just any foreign film that can combine lesbian shower action with sadistic marching band majorettes. They also somehow managed to capture on film the elusive art of self love—which in France apparently means making out with a mirror. Boy, they really are kinky over there!

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "The Twisted Sex"

We didn't mean to make this an all-prostitute day here ... wait, yes we did. Fortunately, we are mature adults who can handle rough stories about men who seek pleasure and pain and the women who provide it ... but at what cost? Like all good sexploitation movies, "The Twisted Sex" is pulled from real "files" that, for some reason, document all the freakiness in the world in excruciating detail. Which leads us to one inevitable question—where are these files and how can we can get a look at them?

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "Prostitutes Protective Society"

Do you remember that part in "Sin City" where the prostitutes took over an entire section of town, kicked out the pimps and the cops and the mafia, and started dispensing their own brand of justice to anyone foolish enough to mess with their sisters? That's a true story! Here's the documentary proof to show that no organized crime syndicate is a match for a fiesty band of hookers who know how to talk tough and shoot a gun. (It's also Chapter 5 of this book.) By the way, people love to complain that there is too much nudity and violence in the movies—but have you noticed that no one ever complains about "nude violence"? The more, the better as far as we're concerned.

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "Obscene House"

Are you the kind of person who settles for second best? Then you're in the wrong place, because this movie is not for losers that settle. It's for winners! Winners who respect things like quality entertainment, but don't necessarily care about things like characters names or plot. If you are one of these special people who understands pleasure and the sins of the flesh, then settle in for the best little whorehouse story this side of Texas. Just don't forget to tip Fat Mama.

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "Stefania" Is A Bad, Bad Girl

We're not really clear on whether this is a movie about a woman's prison or a women's insane asylum—but in the world of '60s exploitation flicks it's all caged heat. Besides, even the narrator can't decide if the romance takes place in the shadow of a dream or its twilight. (We make that mistake a lot.) Other than that, it's pretty typical fare—you know, white slavery, crazed lesbian sex fiends, violent bludgeonings, incest ... the usual. Oh, and one other thing: this film is apparently not for children! It's good thing they said something because we totally looking for something to watch with our nephews this weekend, especially now that "Hannah Montana" is a little too racy for her own good.

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "Death Of A Nymphet"

We have a lot of fun looking at the way the movies depicted wild sexcapades back in the olden times, but sometimes we forget about the real issues at stake. Of course, we're talking about the fact that if you're a wild, free-spirited being who seeks out sexual activity, you will be murdered. We're sorry, but that's the way things are: if we've learned anything from the movies it's that every single swinger who threw away their morals in the pursuit of carnal pleasure has met a grisly end. On the other hand, they do seem to be having a lot of fun, so maybe it's worth the risk?

great moments in eurosleaze

Beware Of "The Beast In Space!"

In 1975, European movie audiences were enthralled by "The Beast," an erotic horror film about a young woman ravished by a mysterious cloven footed manimal. Then a few years later, "Star Wars" came out and someone had the genius-level brainstorm, "What if The Beast ... was in space?" That's how you end up with this sci-fi erotic adventure, just re-released on DVD by Severin Films (the fine folks who brought you "Malabimba" and "The Sister of Ursula.") We'll have a full review of the film for you soon, but for now here's a little taste of what happens when Italian "spaghetti sci-fi" meets lurid French hardcore. With evil, mineral-hoarding robots!

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "Infidelity, American Style"

Say whatever you want about the American forms of government, language, culture, cuisine, automobiles, railway systems, game shows, financial markets, foreign policy, football, or televised amateur karaoke contests—but don't you dare impugn our style of adultery. Nobody, and we mean nobody combines violence and sexual lechery in the pursuit of hedonistic personal gain like the good old U.S. of A. The Chinese can buy up all our foreclosed houses and fill them with lead, but they won't be winning any Olympic medals for depravity, that's for sure.

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "Scarf Of Mist, Thigh Of Satin"

Some people will do anything to get ahead in business: shady backroom deals, wild hooker-filled sex parties for clients, intimidation, blackmail, violence ... even murder! So what high stakes industry inspires such immoral and bloodthirsty tactics? No, not international politics or Wall Street finance. Those folks look like Boy Scouts compared to the ruthless leaders of the silk-stocking industry. What kind of sick and perverted things had to happen in order for you to cover your legs in the latest sheer and sexy style? You don't even want to know ...

men with issues

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "All Women Are Bad"

It is true that our male-dominated society sometimes puts women at certain disadvantages. That's because somewhere along the line, certain men became convinced that women were inferior beings who could not be trusted. But the good news is that we think we've finally figured out the original source of this whole sexist attitude: you see, some movie producer in the late 1960s fell in love with a pretty girl, asked her out on a date and, for whatever reason, it didn't work out. So he made a movie about it, and that's where all the trouble started. Can't we just forget about it and move on now?

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "The Diary Of Knockers McCalla"

We understand the desire of parents to give their kids unique and interesting names, but whatever you do, please do not name your baby girl "Knockers." You're pretty much relegating her to a life of looking for "fun and kicks," awkward come-ons from family friends, and (obviously) killing her husband with sex on their wedding night. The surprise shootings are never fun, either. Seriously, just give her a nice wholesome name like Mary or Sarah or else she'll have creepy movie voiceover guys following her around until she's 30.
