Fourth Annual Feminist Porn Awards: They Are The Champions

Alas, we were unable to make it out to Toronto this weekend for the fourth(!) annual Feminist Porn Awards—but we're pleased to see that many of our Crush Objects made it out—and won awards!

We're still waiting on the full list of winners, but from Jiz Lee's recap, we know that Madison Young was named an Indie Porn Pioneer and awarded Best Kink Movie (for "Perversions of Lesbian Lust"), Dylan Ryan won Female Heart Throb of the Year, Courtney Trouble was awarded Most Diverse for forthcoming flick "Roulette," and Pink & White Productions picked up awards for Steamiest Trans Scene (in "Crash Pad Series Vol 2: Unlocked") and the coveted Movie of the Year, for none other than "Champion."

We couldn't have picked better winners ourselves.

Feminist Porn Awards: This One's For The Ladies

We've been called a lot of names over the years, but one thing we rarely get accused of is being feminist. (Calling you "chicks" all the time probably doesn't help.) After all, feminists aren't even allowed to like porn, right? Well, some of them do—and not only does feminist porn exist, there's enough of it that they can give awards for the best of the lot. Twice! Tomorrow night, female-friendly sex shop Good For Her will host the second annual Feminist Porn Awards in Toronto. Unlike the Oscars, you can actually buy a ticket and mingle with some of the stars like Simone Valentino of "Afrodite Superstar" (pictured) and producer Peggy Comstock of Comstock Films. Plus there's a pretty good chance you'll get to see some good old fashioned smut. We'd go ourselves if wasn't for that passport problem, but if you're up in the Great White North you should do what you can to be there. When it comes to dirty pictures, these broads really know what they're doing. (Oh ... we did it again, didn't we?)

Darryl's Hard Liquor and Porn Film Festival

There are two things in life we can't do with out: porn and top-shelf booze. (Or bottom shelf. We're not that picky, actually.) So when we hear about something like Darryl's Hard Liquor and Porn Film Festival, obviously it's going to get our attention. The yearly festival is a double gathering in both Montreal and Toronto that gives aspiring filmmakers a chance to tackle their favorite subject and (we assume) do a lot of drinking. The festival itself isn't until later this year, but they are currently taking submissions for short films under four minutes length. They movies don't actually have to be porn (though we're sure a little T&A wouldn't hurt), they're just looking for funny or interesting takes on sex that hopefully rise above the unintentional comedy you find on PornoTube every day. So if you've got an idea in your brain and a video camera, start working on that script. You might want to stock up on ice, too—someone had to keep all those drinks cold.
