For someone who began her career in the adult industry with a porn movie called "Nietzsche Bangers", you'd think that directrix Vena Virago would have a more highfalutin take on the intersection of high art and low culture. But then, Vena Virago isn't your average porn directrix: "Porn is porn. Art is art. This is porn." "Eastside Story" directrix Vena Virago, aka Margie Schnibbe, will buck recent adult convention and shoot porn against an artistic backdrop rather than shoot some boring porn and call it art. Her canvas will be her new installation at Circus Gallery in Los Angeles, where she will film a girl-on-girl scene with her mural "Birthday Party" in the background. Her show opens May 17. It's not that we're bored with our jobs or have lost the will to live. It's not that the business aspects of porn too often overwhelm its mission statement as engraved on the pyramids: Squeezable Girl Shanks. It's just that sometimes things seem the same.

Luckily the delightful Rebeca Linares and the polyglot Tyler Knight have shown up just in time in Vena Virago's "East Side Story", a colorful romp through East Los Angeles and, among other things, Page Morgan's ass. This is the sort of thing Vivid should be doing instead of pseudo-celebrity pseudo-sex tapes. - GP

The final scene of "East Side Story" is sweet because Linares, a native of Barcelona, requires dubbing. Knight, who amiably explains that he has learned three different languages from ex-girlfriends, speaks Spanish with her the entire scene. No ugly Americans here!

"Eastside Story", a colorful fuckfest directed by Vena Virago, was feted at a bar in downtown L.A. last night, attracting a group of characters not usually seen at porn parties. That is not to say that trendy New York-style hipsters unafraid to let their gray hair show are necessarily better than other people, but they are often better at making out than you'd think. We asked cub photographer Eon McKai to help us out with the Popshots this week, because he knows all the angles.

We begin with the delightful Page Morgan stranded outside because she is not old enough to drink, the poor thing. (I stayed outside as long as I could until I began to feel untrue to my nature.)
