This underwear ad from Australia is certainly racy. It's kind of what it would be like if all those hot roller derby girls were wearing a bit less clothing and wanted to hold hands rather than hit each other.

Crash Into Me: "RollerDollz" Really Satisfies

It is probably a cortical-level urge to want to see women in tight clothes and roller skates; I imagine it has something to do with the increased speed with which they can be mashed together. It is this laser-focus on a basic human need that sets "Roller Dollz" apart from other porn fare this month.

Why "Roller Dollz" (which I have seen) is as good as, if not better than, "Pirates 2", (which I have not yet seen):

1. The stakes aren't as high. While "Roller Dollz" is a bigger-than-usual production, comprising two DVDs and employing the financial, creative, and boobular resources of two porn companies (Adam & Eve and Zero Tolerance) it, like most other porn movies, was written, produced, and released in less than three months whereas "Pirates 2" has been advertised for more than two years and is reputed to cost upwards of $500,000, most of which will go to special effects shots. In the end, both are just porn movies. Worse, there is no way that the effects on "Pirates 2" will look half as good as the effects fans expect from the least Hollywood escapist movie, nor will the acting or script be above reproach. When a porn movie positions itself to be like a mainstream movie, it invites comparison. "Roller Dollz" doesn't say it is anything other than a porn movie, and therefore more than meets my expectations.

2. It's got Sunny Lane in it.

A movie about the lives and loves of rival roller derby gangs, "Roller Dollz" delivers the flesh spectacularly, on wheels no less. Bree Olson, Kayden Kross, Ava Rose, Courtney Cummz, Penny Flame, Teagan, Eva Angelina, Alektra Blue, and Lane look great when shimmying out of their pads and blades, and just as often leave them on.

Don't get me wrong - there is a plot, but I would be doing you a disservice as well as a disservice to the memory of a delightful sex film by trying to describe it. It's unimportant. And it doesn't get in the way of the reason anyone would watch this movie in the first place, which I think in this unfortunate age of vying for porn awards shows remarkable restraint.

All the big stars (Kross and Olson in particular) look lovely and are given lots of screen time, but it is Lane who reminds us that there is a reason she has stayed famous in the adult business for longer than the average starlet's career expectancy.

With plenty of outside shots of millennial Malibu and the joy of watching eight girls in a rollergangbang on a Glendale parquet floor, "Roller Dollz" will drain your ball bearings.

Roller Girl Fantasy Comes (Almost) To Life

We actually attended a women's roller derby match recently and can therefore say with some authority that these contests do not usually devolve into hair-pulling, shirt-ripping, girl-on-girl topless brawls. (Yes, we did feel a bit ripped off, but it was a fun time anyway.) So we have to inform you that this roller girl showdown between Bizarre magazine models Sarah-Jayne and Nina Kate isn't that realistic. But like that hot all-girl orgy on wheels that wasn't, it's still entertaining: the fight may be staged, but the sexiness isn't. Just don't expect a real roller girl to tear her shirt off whenever you ask her to. She might tear your head off instead, unless you ask very, very nicely.

Popshots Of The Week: "Rollerdollz" Edition

Adam & Eve's biggest movie of 2008 is "Rollerdollz," a roller derby movie gone right. A co-production with Zero Tolerance and directed by James Avalon, "Rollerdollz" wrapped filming early this morning at a 60-year-old rink at the east end of Porn Valley as Ava Rose, Bree Olson, Eva Angelina, and Sunny Lane skated across the parquet to crash into each other in a sweaty, girly mass.

The story is as American as "The Grapes of Wrath": two roller rivals settle their differences in each others' vaginas and somehow Ron Jeremy is involved. What's more, Kayden Kross adds that special element to luchador surf-guitar music.

L.A.'s Fearleaders cheer on a cast of non-nude but just as compelling extras, including members of a real-life L.A. women's roller derby league.

Penny Flame adjusts her blades, Eva Angelina dazzles the camera, and Sunny Lane ponders a return to her former career of figure skating as Alektra Blue surveys the scene. Sunny and Alektra are the cast's most accomplished skaters.

Don't ask what Ava Rose used to polish the floor; just be happy for me.

Bree Olson needlessly adjusts something (don't adjust a goddamn thing) while the referee explains a call to Sunny Lane.

A member of Glendale's Moonlite Rollerway staff told me that the rink's Over 50 club would be skating right over this spot the next day. If they had only seen Bree et al this way, doubtless they would not conclude that youth is wasted on the wrong people.
