And what a celebration! True, it might be a little hard to recreate the cliffs of insanity or Humperdink's castle—but we know exactly who we'd cast as Buttercup, the most beautiful woman in the world: Paola Rey. In order to do that, though, we'll have to take you all the way back to the beginning, to what seems like a bajillion years ago: a time when a CBS art director named Paul dreamed of a life away from the cold bustle of New York City, a life filled with beautiful, young, sexually uninhibited models all clamoring to be his willing erotic subjects in his balmy Venice Beach condo.

Since then, the erotic artist has built an empire that defies imagination, driven by a single minded vision to create gorgeous erotica on his own terms. We once told him that his movies were less pornography and more like something that should be played out of a movie projector onto the back wall of a cocaine party circa 1982. He told us he was relieved that someone finally got him.

More accurately his work builds on itself, working its way gently underneath the viewer's skin, and building towards a sexual epiphany as inescapable and surreal as a fever dream—and just as fleeting, too. In a world of extreme close ups and shocking immediacy, Blake's languid approach is an acquired taste—one well worth acquiring.

It's been 20 some odd years since the first "Night Trips" was released, and now Blake has reprised his own masterpiece with sultry sex goddesses Paola Rey and Charlotte Stokely, calling the sequel "A Dark Odyssey." Blake opts out to eschew dialogue, allowing the pictures to tell the story and saving a ton of money on writers. The decision works well for this movie, but we'd like to discourage other autuers from attempting it for obviously self-interested reasons.

Unlike most of his previous work, which is heavily sapphic, "Night Trips Redux" is lousy with boy-girl couplings to good, if somewhat seedy, effect. It is still, however, shot on Super 16mm film, a medium to which Blake remains completely committed. Glamorizing a junky chic that belies his subjects insatiable need to be sexually degraded, "Night Trips" is in fact much more of a mirror into the director's ageless soul, underscoring his own personal history of sexual frustration with these unstable yet beautiful dolls with a reflexively postmodern paean to his own genius.

Tera Patrick and her rockstar pimp husband Spyder get down and grungy together, but they also have scenes with other people—which, we must say, are pretty great. Some of the highlights: Tera gets drilled by Tommy Gunn while Spyder Jones services his model perfect blond friend; sapphic sweetheart Angie Savage takes a wild ride on the stiff prick of her rocker ex-hubby (a rare treat to catch given her aversion to boy-girl scenes); Sasha Grey turns out another amazing performance (as always), as do Nikki Benz, Jayna Oso, Paola Rey, Tiffany Taylor, Ava Lauren, Katrina Kat, Selena Draagon, Lexie Marie, Regan Reese, and Bobbie Eden (we're tired just typing that!).

Our only complaint, if we're going to be totally honest, is that there isn’t enough Tera in it for us. Seriously, if you’re going call something "Tera Patrick Superstar," shouldn’t she star in more than two scenes? Still, we'll take what we can get—and eagerly wait for whatever our favorite porn Queen offers up next.

So what does all this have to do with her latest release (sorry, "cut") for Digital Playground, "Katsuni Minx"? Well, nothing really—but since we know you depend on us to tell you all about the secret lives of otherwise unheralded porn directors, we figured we'd share a something a little insidery with you by way of introduction. That said, we also know that when we receive a new release from the porn star-turned-director it will showcase not only a bunch of smoldering hot models but that it will be presented with an attention to detail that is another one of Celeste's trademarks. And "Katsuni Minx" certainly lives up to those expectations.

In addition to sex goddess Katsuni, "Katsuni Minx" also stars Maya Gates, Brandi Edwards, Paola Rey, Micah Moore, and pint-sized fan favorite Alexis Love. The sets are as lovely as the girls—not that you'll be likely to be paying much attention to the sets, but still—and the sex is every bit as hot as it looks in these preview shots the good folks at Digital Playground shared with us. Sometimes, it's good to have an auteur around the house. Even if they are wearing tissue boxes on their feet.
