According to Flickr user jlndrr, these digitally garbled screenshots of porn movies are "part of an ongoing research on visual ways to dissolve pornographic imagery in abstraction and absurd": "I exploit the artifacts, errors, blurs inherent to heavy digital compression and incomplete files ... Here, the creative process in itself rely on selecting the right images: identifiable as pornographic, but somehow deactivated." Which kind of makes us look at our own dirty downloading experiences over the years in a whole new light. Just think: all those hours spent trying to jerk off to scrambled Spice TV broadcasts or BitTorrent downloads gone horriby awry weren't a waste of time after all—we were making art the whole time and didn't know it!

So when we post something about Bond Girls, we're not trying to get you to go see "Casino Royale" or anything. In fact, we recommend that you stay at home and save your money and instead check out the fine work by a dedicated smuthound who went on an exhaustive search compiling screen caps of nearly two dozen naked Bond Girls from years past: even if they didn't actual get naked in their Bond movie appearances, many of them did in other movies and sleazy magazines. It's a well-organized labor of love that's even more comprehensive than that other Bond Girl tribute we posted last week. And in light of recent box office returns, it provides a valuable lesson: Bond totally would've kicked those penguins' asses if only his female companions had shown a little more skin.

In case you missed it during either of its Biennial runs (Venice and Whitney) over the last two years, Men's Vogue presents almost two dozen screenshots from artist Francesco Vizzoli's trailer for a non-existent remake of Gore Vidal's "Caligula" which has the dual distinction of being both more coherent and more sexy than the ill-starred 1979 original. It'll take you longer to click through the slideshow than it would to sit through the actual video piece, and you really haven't lived until you've heard the sublime Karen Black screeching "Caligulaaaaaaaaaah!" at full hysterical volume, but if you're curious to see what all the (deserved) hype is about aside from the couple of screenshots which have been floating around on the interweb since its premiere this is the next best thing to a private screening. (Plus, you get to see Milla Jovovich getting ravished by a pair of Roman love slaves. Did we mention that it's sexy?)
