"Barely Legal" Overloads With "Brand Spanking New"

It was nearly a full year ago that Alex De Large directed the Barely Legal sub niche "Brand Spanking New," but the results are just as prurient today, when it is being released, as they were then.

We're not entirely sure why Barely Legal wouldn't be enough on its own. Adding "Brand Spanking New" almost seems like overkill. With nothing else to go on, we can only assume that they mean to suggest that in addition to being of legal age to plunder their sweet va-jay-jays, these girls are also relatively inexperienced.

The only problem with that is that they have Lana Violet turning in one hell of an aggressive scene full of zest and spunk well beyond her age. "Pure" Screwing Satisfaction

David Aaron Clark's first movie for Evil Angel is an exquisite piece of pornography. Based on the true story of Sada Abe, "Pure" updates the subject matter of 1976's "In the Realm of the Senses" to contemporary Los Angeles where, instead of working as a maid in a 1930's Tokyo hotel, Sada is the receptionist at Asian-run BDSM dungeon Realm.

Sada and Kichi soon grow fond of one another and have the sort of sex-filled honeymoon one might want performers in a porn movie to have. But Sada is a little obsessive and Kichi is a little fickle; there is potential poverty involved if he doesn't go back to his wife, and Sada believes her and Kichi's relationship is finite.

Back at the Realm we meet the dommes, played by Lana Violet, Jessica Bangkok, and Destiny. Each to her credit has her own thing going on, and we are able to view them as separate characters. Still, they seem to have Mr. Marcus caged 24/7, playing a rapper who is guilty about his success.

Styles is an up and coming British Asian porn star, which is doubly rare. Added to this exclusivity is the fact that he is an excellent actor. His presence—despite what happens—might make "Pure" Clark's first ever couples'-friendly movie.

But Clark never bogarts the creeps. In "Pure" there are two old-tymey porn staples in the persons of the reptilian businessman Pasquale (Valentino) and Sada's former professor, played by Jake Malone. Malone, in exchange for Sada's services, provides a cash infusion so that Sada and Kicki can continue playing house.

"Pure" is a very slow burn, and seems to get more compelling, sexy, and visually beautiful toward the end, with earlier scenes seeming ponderous. That said, in addition to just about everything in the movie being a niche or a fetish (leather nuns, asphyxiation, interracial sex, blowjobs while smoking, British Asian guys), "Pure" is the rare porn movie that makes us empathize with the characters.

Equal billing in "Pure" should go to the city of Los Angeles, particularly the corridor from downtown and Chinatown to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. There is not a pool or palm tree in sight in this movie, as if the city got its junk cut off, too.

I Want To Go To There: "30 Rock - A XXX Parody"

As devoted fans of both "30 Rock" and the pornographic arts, we were rather excited for the release of "30 Rock - A XXX Parody." Well, excited and scared. We've witnessed enough parody disasters to know what could go wrong.

"30 Rock - A XXX Parody" is not an unparalleled success, but it's not a disaster, either: in the spectrum of porno parodies, it falls squarely in the middle. There's a lot that's good about the release, but there are also several areas in which in falls flat—and though it certainly gets the vibe of the show, one doesn't come to the, ahem, climax feeling as those we've just watched an episode of "30 Rock"—but with sex!

First and foremost, the release packs a serious punch with some all-star sex scenes. Really, who among you would turn down the opportunity to watch Lisa Ann take on James Deen? Or—bless our souls—Erik Everhard teaming up with Rebeca Linares and Lana Violet...at the same time? Or Ashlynn Brooke doing anything? The sheer quality of performers included in this release is a wonder to behold—but really, that's only to be expected.

Secondly, the plot—and set ups—are reasonably "30 Rock"-esque. Seeking to improve ratings on "The Chic Show," Jake decides the sketches need to be sexed up (an idea inspired by sex with his girlfriend Alicia). Frustrated by Trey's limelight-hogging, Jenny tries to convince writer Fred to feature her in a really good sketch (and by convince, we mean seduce). Peter fantasizes about the scantily-clad Cherry. Liz falls, once more, for her loser ex-boyfriend's charms. And Ken—well, we'll get to that in a second.

The humor is also reasonably "30 Rock"-esque. Though he's no Tracy Morgan (uh, who is?), Bishop turns in a good performance as Trey, with more than a few jokes that made us laugh. (Want an idea of what we're talking about? A good deal of the jokes make it into the trailer—so if that's all you want, check that out on the feature's website.)

And, of course, we have to give New Sensations props for incorporating secondary characters (especially Alicia/Elisa) into the plot, rather than simply inventing women to fill in the plans. Well, except for in Ken's sex scene...but we'll get to that in a second.

So, yes: Ken's sex scene, which caps off the release, was probably our biggest disappointment—at least in terms of the porno actually bearing some resemblance to "30 Rock," the show. Without going into too much detail, Ken's sex scene is a dream sequence, once in which Ken fantasizes that he's actually Erik Everhard banging two girls named Stephanie and Nancy. Now, there's nothing wrong with watching Mr. Everhard do what he does best, but he's no Kenneth Parcell.

Why'd New Sensations decide to take that tack? Simple, really: Paul Woodcrest, the performer playing Ken, is actually an adult director—and though he was more than happy to lend his boyish charm to the character of Ken, he wasn't quite ready to make his debut as a porn performer. The same goes for Bishop (hence the lack of any "Werewolf Bar Mitzvah" fantasy sex scene—you know they were totally thinking about it).

At the end of it all, we found ourselves questioning whether one could make a "30 Rock" porn that really, really worked. After all, the things that make "30 Rock" really work are counter to the things that make a porno really work: part of the fun of "30 Rock" is the running joke that—somehow, in spite of herself—Liz never gets laid. Does seeing Lisa Ann's Liz Limon getting done hard take away from that?

We'll have to get back to you on that one. Right after we finish watching Erik Everhard giving it to these two chicks.

"Not the Cosby Show XXX" Doesn't Sweater the Small Stuff

...like the fact that my first visit to the set happened on Caucasian Day.

Not that that was bad. Jenny Hendrix? Jaelyn Fox? Sara Vandella? Lana Violet? Still, as commenters pointed out, even a porn parody of "The Cosby Show" should have some black people in it. So today I met the full cast, including (from left, top) Tyler Knight as Theo, Misty Stone as Lisa, Monica Foster as Claire, an actor who has not yet chosen his porn name as Cliff (but he had the voice down cold), Cassidy Clay as Sondra and - both the following women are, in fact, 20 - Nina Devan as Rudy and Melody Narai as Vanessa.

The movie is directed by Will Ryder and produced by Scott David, who is also responsible for the 60 costumes for a dozen cast members. "I went to every thrift store in L.A. at least five times," he said.

I was there for two days and I still don't know what the plot is, but everyone was having an excellent time, including the dapper Tee Real, who plays Cockroach (seen here with the delicious Jaelyn Fox) and Dick James, whom I affectionately call Lucky Bastard, seen here with Sara Vandella, Fox, Jenny Hendrix, and Lana Violet.

Trent (Mr. Marcus) wakes up in his own body, uncertain of who he is. He sees only the slick suit, the police badge, and the sidearm. He's in a bad part of Los Angeles, the kind where dreams don't come true, and he's getting drunk-dialed by a mostly incoherent Oriental Black Widow (Ange Venus), who beckons the amnesiac into her evil sex trap warehouse.

Her evil sex trap warehouse, I add, where things aren't as they seem. Sex is happening there. Black men on Asian women sex (Dick James and Lana Violet). And does Mr. Marcus start having flashbacks? Does he know, now, why he's here?

Asia Noir 6, like the best low-budget porn movies, succeeds because it follows certain rules and does not stray from its own economy. For example, most of the important dialogue is in voiceover, which Marcus delivers convincingly, a late-night DJ mixed with a dude you don't want to mess with.

The noir aspect is also not overwhelming. Director David Aaron Clark realizes that the audience has to see (please tell this to Wicked Pictures), so the noir is more in the mood and the skin tone of the performers than in the lighting.

In the evil sex trap warehouse, Marcus stumbles on a sexual encounter. His LAPD instincts returning, he mostly watches. But when it looks as if things will get ugly for the Destiny, he acts. But the girl disappears, and now Marcus has murdered Dick James.

Meanwhile, Ange Venus continues her cryptic phone calls. Myself, I would have fled, but Marcus is dogged and patient. He continues patrolling the evil sex trap warehouse until he finds Coco Velvett, who is a secretary "down the hall." Spookily, Velvett's hair is down on one floor and up on the next. Ange Venus' dialogue coach must have been handling the continuity.

Velvett fills Marcus in on what goes on in the building. There's an Import/Export business on this floor and a porn studio, Velvett whispers, in the basement. Marcus gets himself down there fast, where he meets Myla Montez, who doesn't have to try too hard to seduce him.

I am not making excuses here, but the awkward readings of heightened dialogue by some of the actresses gently nudges the overall creepiness of the movie. It is rare that bad line readings in a serious porn movie actually work. But here they serve to increase Marcus' -pardon the pun- disorientation. When working with a limited budget, any tool in the shed is helpful.

Upstairs, a frightened Velvett has dreams about Marcus, even as he works on Montez below (so "below" is Marcus' work on Montez that she doesn't take her shirt off). But girls keep disappearing after they've been serviced by black men in this movie, and Montez vanishes.

Marcus gets dressed and finds Velvett being throttled by Destiny, a strap-on succubus. He's not a very good cop. Must call William Bratton and tell him that there's a homicide detective in L.A. letting nice girls get strapped by ghosts.

Destiny, Montez, and Venus are, you see, an evil ghostly trinity bent on vengeance for a crime Trent committed in the conscious world.

When Trent finally figures it out, things have gone irretrievably creepy, and it is too late. He discovers the part he has played, and why he is at least partly responsible for the events. Of course, the vindictive spirits might have forgiven him, but vengeance is a bitch.

"New Stars" Experiencing New Sensations In A Brave New XXX World

New Sensations rolls out twelve scenes in five hours with a two-disc collector’s edition entitled "The New Stars of XXX." In numerology that translates into 1, a number associated with not only financial gain and overbearing personal needs and desires, but also with winners (duh) not to mention hordes of screaming fans with oversized foam fingers. Think about that for a minute. It’s mind boggling!

Natasha Nice, Courtney James, Kacey Jordan, Nichole Heiress, Scarlett Fay, Brynn Tyler, Coco Velvett, Lana Violet, Audrianna Angel, Missy Stone, Marie McCray, and Kiki Vidis are the fresh faced, willing young debutantes learning the ropes the hard way, but with none of the reservations crowding up the minds of the harrowed and uncertain young ladies not featured in this fledgling volume. You see these girls are the new stars of XXX. The next Jenna Jameson or Tera Patrick will emerge triumphant and cum-basted from this group, like a glorious, shimmering phoenix drenched in baby batter, like a gleaming Lauren Conrad—and you damn well know it!

They won’t be losing sleep any night soon over where their careers are headed. No more McJobs or working at the mall at stores they used to shoplift from. No more pointlessly begging their parents and sugar daddies for Manolo Blahnik during the worst economic crisis since Herbert Hoover. No more long hours spent winding around a stripper pole under candy lights or grinding the sticky tumescent laps of sweaty trolls for damp dollars. From here on out, it’s all panty-melting flattery, hard pipe from cute guys, and an endless stream of easy moolah. That’s even better than being the next Angelina Jolie or Megan Fox!

Orientating Arousal With "Asia Noir 6"

As we've mentioned on Fleshbot several times in the past, reclusive writer-director David Aaron Clark is to Asian women what Nacho Vidal is to transsexuals. So when Metro Interactive bought out ethnic niche company Video Team they continued to allow the master to helm the "Asia Noir series he has so lovingly (and compulsively) crafted over the years. That was a very wise decision indeed. (Which is something we don't get to say very often when discussing porn.)

Despite its title, however, "Asia Noir 6" isn't just for Asianophiles only: its racially transcendant cast stars Coco Velvett, Ange Venus, Destiny, Lana Violet, and Myla Montez in a "Memento"-style thriller about a cop suffering from amnesia, a naïve secretary, and a predator driven to the depths of delusion by one of his victim’s ghosts. And it all goes down in a creepy deserted building a la "The Shining". Clearly, this is no "Me Love You Long Time" or "Sushi Munching Lesbos 2".

Given his abilities as a writer (which at least equal any accomplishments he has been recognized for as a director), we’re certain that Clark could have come up with something better for the box copy than the tagline "Vengeance Is A Witch". Still, if the stills below are any indication of what "Asia Noir 6" has in store, we're pretty sure you won't be paying much attention to the box copy anyway.

Beauties Vs. Beasts: The Saga Continues

In the original version of the French fairy tale "Beauty and the Beast", a cruel Prince is fated to live as a ghastly creature until he is released from his spell and united with his Princess forever. With various modifications, the story became the basis for several well-known adaptations over the years: artists as diverse as Jean Cocteau and the Disney corporation found inspiration in this classic tale of true love.

While we'd love to say that the folks at Vengeance XXX drew upon this illustrious creative lineage in producing "Beauties and the Beast 2". the fact is that this is not so much a sequel as a full-blown reimagining of the source material. To say the (very) least.

In fact, they don't even pretend that there's a story here: "Beauties and the Beast 2" merely cribs a famous title and goes straight to the meat of the matter by pitting Boz’s monstrous unit against the likes of hapless beauties Bella Ling, Alyssa Dior, Lana Violet, Britney Stevens, and Carmella Santiago. Who needs all that tedious expository dialogue anyway?

Nevertheless, "Beauties and the Beast 2" still functions as a sort of porn fairy tale by showing us that monsters really do exist ... and there really are beauties out there capable of taming them. In fact, everyone winds up with a happy ending after all—happy and sore, that is. But still happy!
