Our knowledge of Swedish pop acts and their relative placements on the UK singles charts has been a little rusty ever since ABBA broke up, but thankfully the occasional update still finds its way into our inbox. Folks overseas don't appear too shocked to learn about her more exciting past, but they are a little stunned to learn she's not the only internet sex star attached to this hit. It's obvious that those Europeans are just so much more blasé about this sort of thing, as evidenced by Basshunter's explanation for his antics. "Emmanuelle" Is Back Where She Belongs

Unless you've managed to catch it on late night cable or on an out-of-print DVD copy, "Emmanuelle" is one of those classic films that more folks have heard about than actually seen—which is a darn shame if you ask us, since Just Jaecklin's 1974 study of an innocent young wife's erotic awakening is a cinematic landmark that belongs in the library of every discriminating ~~perv~~ sexual connoisseur.

So we're excited about the new Lionsgate special edition DVD release of "Emmanuelle", which goes on sale this week and which presents the film with all the careful attention to detail it deserves, complete with two new featurettes on its making and marketing and all of its gauzy tropical eroticism intact (as opposed to those couple of cruelly butchered foreign releases that have been floating around over the last several years.) It's a class act, and as far as we're concerned the film looks better than ever. (Which, considering the fact that we last saw it nearly twenty years ago on a Betamax copy we filched from our parents' bedroom, may not really be saying that much. Still, we think that Sylvia Kristel would be proud.)

We're not sure exactly what fashion is supposed to be being featured in this new photoset by Torben Raun in the new issue of Iconique, the glossy Ducth online couture and lifestyle showcase we featured here earlier this year; as far as we can make out, it's something of the avant-guard two-bottlecaps-and-a-cobweb variety that you're unlikely to find at the local Nordstrom's. We do know, however, that the featured model looks really, really good showing it off.
