Two teams of four get a limo and $100 each to complete an identical series of optional or mandatory tasks. each weighted for difficulty and chutzpah. All involve either interaction with the public or public displays of hardcore action set against a Pacific Northwest backdrop albeit with no distracting cameos by former members of Soundgarden.

Some of the stunts, like flushing their hands in a public toilet and eating fish eyes, are characteristic of Shane's World's devotion to its reality-style "Real World" roots. And when former Vivid girl Cassidey and Kacey Jordan convince a local to let them shave his balls and then give him the full porn star treatment, it really is a millennial Horatio Alger story.

"My day couldn't get any better," he says.

"You sure you don't just wanna fuck us?" Cassidey (who, up until this moment in the movie, hasn't appeared as enthusiastic as everyone else) asks. "We have condoms."

"If you do us both," Jordan adds, "that's 2,000 extra points."

Following two nights of partying with local bikers (one of whom was particularly lucky), one team squeaked out a narrow victory.

Similar to JM Productions' "American Bukkake" movies, these Shane's World ventures into the general population provide a snapshot of the porn-buying public, and sometimes it's a little scary, like a high school party you think might go wrong and you have no ride home.

But people should be so lucky to have women like Gianna, Cassidey, and Delilah Strong in high school.

The special effects-heavy porn homage to "300" stars Brea Bennett, Nikki Kane, Cassidey, and Renee Perez at the titular quadsome along with the very fortunate Charles Dera and Marco Bandares as Xerxes the Persian God-King (a role which we were originally offered but turned down so as to remain impartial). No word yet whether an actual pit was used during filming to kick Ninnworx' critics into, but from these shots it's clear that Michael Ninn has once again combined his signature glossy high-end music video style with some hot and heavy fucking action to stunning effect (and has already managed to make us forget about some of his previous over-brooding releases, which shall go unmentioned). Still no word on an official release date, but we'll keep you posted.

No matter; director Ethan Kane makes us feel like we're discovering the pint-sized squirting powerhouse for the first time as she takes on Tommy Gunn and the smoothly delectable Penthouse Pet Celeste Starr, with backup provided by Gabriella Rossi and Samantha Sin. Much of the movie looks like it was shot in a warehouse in downtown Los Angeles because, well, it was — but we don't need no fancy sets or anything to distract us from the business at hand. We don't care where we watch Cassidey get busy as long as we get a front row seat.

"The Four" are Ninnworx' quartet of contract stars: Renee Perez, Brea Bennett (not Brea Lynn as I'd previously written), Cassidey, and Nikki Kane. They play against Marco Banderas as Xerxes in what appears to be a "Mists of Avalon"-style sequel/porn reimagining of "300," complete with some very impressive recreations of that slow down/speed up editing trick "300" popularized.

Banderas is oiled and toothy as Xerxes, and his one-ethnicity-fits-all Spanish accent lends him an air of foreign menace. What the girls are doing we don't know, but sticking to a bare-bones comic book plot is probably a good idea for Ninn, whose superior artistic sensibilities far outstripped the plot points (ghostly spousal abuse, death of a child) of his recent features.

We're looking forward to "The Four," scheduled for release either this spring or this summer, depending on what you read, as it will be the centerpiece of that sexy Solstice party we want to throw with the women of Jezebel.

The latest of the recent "Debbie Does Dallas" resurrections, Eon McKai's version telegraphs his love for toes, indie bands, and mopey teens, mashing them up with the first non-alt girls of his career.

An altporn reimagining of the 70's porn classic "Debbie Loves Dallas", Eon McKai's version is not going to make any converts to the altporn stable of stars, all of whom do an amazing job of telegraphing how not seriously they take their jobs. The eye rolling, gum smacking, and bad posture, the delivery of every line as if it had a question mark at the end of it, and the relentless irony of the performances made me think less like I was watching a porn movie than I was substitute-teaching an eighth grade class.

All except Cassidey, who plays Debbie. The bad seed Vivid Girl (or so she is depicted in the Showtime/World of Wonder "reality" series "Debbie Does Dallas .. Again"), Cassidey alone seems to be making an effort to do her best with what is admittedly a porn script.

She and her pals (DeArmond, Stokely, and Pearl) meet at a music video shoot playing listless cheerleaders. They take a break and hang out with local ticket scalper/drug dealer Deeze, who takes a shine to Dana.

"I'm from East Los Angeles," he says. "So far east I have a New York accent."

Back at Debbie's place, Cassidey makes James Deen fuck Pixie as punishment for not cleaning the apartment. I don't understand Altkid anthropology; if Deen had cleaned the house, would he have got to fuck Pixie twice?

Regardless, a good sex scene is always a welcome departure from bad acting, and a lack of dialogue takes one's mind off the poor sound. We can hear the "record" button being pressed each time a performer speaks.

Meanwhile, we meet Punky of Dallas, whose mating dance seems to be the constant readjustment of his glasses. We are treated to Dallas' music video, a trippy interlude that puts Punky in Deen's place fucking Pearl.

A story element is added that the girls are fighting. Stokely versus Cassidey over Punky. Cassidey tells Stokely that the loser in their struggle will have to "go back to making porn in the Valley." (At this point I suddenly felt defensive of the Valley. "Well, these girls don't seem so together, either," I thought).

The groupies crash a recording session and Pearl and DeArmond hook up with the backup musicians. It's like "The Wall", except with MySpace bands. Two headscratchers of porn pseudonyms are featured in this scene: Julius Ceazher and Icarus Corpse. If I was 12, Icarus Corpse would be my band.

Down the hall, Cassidey and Stokely try to find Punky but are blocked by his bodyguard.

"I'll introduce Punky to the one who sucks the best cock," the bodyguard says. (Shouldn't it be "sucks cock the best?") Anyway, they blow him, but he betrays their trust. It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll.

A surprise visit by Monique Alexander from Paul Thomas' recent "Debbie" reimagining is every bit as exciting as when Gary Coleman did a cameo on "Silver Spoons" as Arnold Drummond. It is the Vivid contract girls who deliver the most inspired performances in this movie.

You might say, "But Dana DeArmond is the new Thinking Man's Porn Star, and Charlotte Stokely was the face of suburban blight in 'Girls Lie'! How is it that cookie cutter contract girls are so refreshing in this movie?"

Probably because the script was unequal to the talent of these people. At that point it became a personal choice whether to let the audience know. Cassidey made me forget the script; Dana drew attention to it.

In the end, Cassidey gets her man. Punky, played by Alex Gonz, and Cassidey provide a sweaty and messy ending to the movie, real porn as opposed to metaporn, which is a welcome relief. Still, we could hear an offstage voice yell "Two minutes!" as Gonz worked up to his pop shot. I asked McKai if things other directors might smooth over - like stage directions - were included purposely in this movie.

"Truth to materials," he said, quoting the architectural fad that prohibits gussying up building blocks. If that is true, why not have a split screen at all times showing what the crew is up to? What about a CNN news ticker or real-time L.A. traffic reports that would give insight into conditions on the set? Sometimes I think Altporn means never having to admit you're phoning it in.

The two women who agree to participate don't realize until they are in the salon that they will be asked to enjoy the experience topless. One thing leads to another between the girls and their stylists and before long all of the girls are taking part in some unanticipated and highly charged erotic play.

One needs to be reminded that if you're going to take your top off in a salon, most people aren't going to be looking at your hairstyle or nail color anyway. Still, we guess it beats another season of "Who Wants To Be A Superhero?"
