Fresh outta beta, the listings so far are on the sparse side, but that'll change once more users hop on board. After all, doesn't the world's oldest preofession deserve to benefit from the world's newest technology too?

For whatever reason, it seems that most of the del.icio.us- and Digg-inspired porn-flavored community bookmarking sites we've covered here in the past have a hard time gaining momentum; is it because that browsing smut online is essentially a solitary activity that precludes many people from sharing their stash with others? (Be thankful we're not like that, or you'd be staring at an empty page right now.) If anyone can make the concept work, however, it's the pornographic connoissuers at New York City's Museum of Sex, who launched their "community-driven web site where users determine the best sex sites on the web" this week. It's too soon to tell whether their experiment in "'taste-networking' technology"—which both profiles and claims to be able to predict a user's tastes in erotic content—will take off with a wide audience or not. But we're keeping our fingers crossed, and will even be contributing our own finds to their database. After all, the only thing more fun than looking at porn is seeing what porn your fellow pervs are looking at.

There's not a tremendous amount of material at this point, but we're expecting that to change as more users come (sorry again) on board—and in the meantime, the site did point us in the direction of a few tasty TGP treats we might have missed otherwise. We're hoping that this noble community experiment won't become overrun with porn spammers too quickly, though the voting mechanism should go some way in separating the wheat from the chaff.
