This is not a true story, as no one looks this good while getting or delivering such a savage humiliation, but Aiden Starr and Sasha Knox in "Fem Slave 2" remind us that Porn really is a holiday fantasyland.

Director Mike Ramone, my former editor at AVN, has carved an interesting niche as the director of the "Slave" series, a high-concept day in the life of a group of Masters and slaves, Dommes, Dominants, and submissives that collectively provide the grimmest porn version of this highly ritualized, rule-based lifestyle.

In "Fem Slave 02," we follow evil pixie (she is 4'11") Aiden Starr through her dungeon as she takes fleshy, pink, and vulnerable Sasha Knox through her paces.

Rarely on Planet Earth is there a D/s pairing so attractive as Starr and Knox, and credibility slips a notch further with the relentless gloominess, updated Village People costuming (Starr is both a bottomless nun and a bottomless cop), and Cenobite-friendly soundtrack, but Ramone and Co., once we've suspended our disbelief as expertly as Starr does Knox, deliver an exquisite film about two delicious women playing at power exchange.

Knox spends her nights naked and enclosed in what looks like a giant hanging tea ball. In previous segments of the "Slave" series, audiences got a very intimate view of the proceedings, with just two people on screen. In "Fem Slave 2," the picture is opened up, so we catch glimpses of Starr's support personnel and, occasionally, the flailing feet of another hapless subbie.

One such leather-masked assistant lowers Knox in the teaball for the night's activities, such as getting fucked with a huge black dildo, performing analingus, getting tied up and hung up, penetrated with various objects, and repeatedly reaffirming her worthlessness.

Harsh stuff, and relentless in emphasizing the dynamic over the sex, but the world of the movie (and others in the "Slave" series) is pure and uncomplicated, which is just what those people need.

Starr is a dominatrix when she is not moonlighting in porn or watching SyFy, and Knox recently came out of porn retirement after her stint on "My Bare Lady" and the lonely world of clerical temping. Office work has made her vulnerable, and she, also, is perfectly cast.

While Ramone's days as an editor are over, however, I must take issue with his misspelling of "wont" in the title cards. In the rulebound world of lifestyle BDSM, bitches get slapped for typos.

Sneak Peek: A First Look At Erica McLean And Carlos Batts's "Alice"

Of the 125 AVN Awards, there's not a single one for "Best Trailer"—but if there were, we feel sure that this preview for "Alice" would be a shoo in for the prize.

We already know that we want to see this movie, but if we didn't, this trailer would be enough to convince us...and then some. The lush cinematography, the excellent score, what appears to be an actual plot...and, of course, the fact that Evan Stone was clearly born to play the role of The Mad Hatter.

On Set With Belladonna's "Strapped Dykes," Or How I Spent My LA Vacation

"Hardcore Circus" Isn't Clowning Around

Though the circus is generally seen as family fun, innocent and appropriate for all ages, Erica McLean's "Hardcore Circus" is anything but. (Which probably explains why we like it so much.)

As the feature begins, we're introduced to Erica McLean, a hardworking, beleaguered pornographer who can't catch a break. Protesters harass her outside her office, proselytizing neighbors interrupt her masturbation time, and just as she's finally getting a chance to relax, she slips on some dog poop...and is magically whisked away to the "Hardcore Circus," "Wizard of Oz"-style.

Once inside the big top, the plot melts away (with all the hot sex going on, there wasn't any room for it). Short clips of sepia-toned circus action are interspersed with super hot freakshow sex (which we mean in the best possible way). Though all the performers put on a good show, we were especially won over by Audrey Hollander and Otto Bauer's lion taming act and Kimberly Kane and Evan Stone's, um, sex scene (we weren't totally sure what circus feat they were performing).

In what's easily the most intense scene in the film, Audrey and Otto pull out all the stops. Not only is the lion tamer/lioness act wellplayed, but we have to give extra points to Audrey for taking a whip handle in her pussy, a cock in her ass, and a riding crop slapping against her skin. (I want to go to there. No, seriously: I want to go to there.) Oh, and of course, double bonus points for Audrey then doing double anal with a cock and a whip handle. Stormy Daniels is wrapping up her on-camera porn career, which is tragic. We cheered up by visiting the set of the "Alice in Wonderland"-flavored "Tormented" to watch her and Aiden Starr fuck like rabbits.

Hustler Gives Us A Peek At Their "Hardcore Circus"

As children, we always loved going to the circus. But somehow, we don't think that Hustler's "Hardcore Circus" is quite like the three ring that we remember. (Actually, we're pretty sure it's way better.)

Directed by Erica McLean (of "Barely Legal" fame), and starring Audrey Hollander, Kimberly Kane, Lavish Styles, Madison Scott, Kendra Banx, Starri Night, Aiden Starr, Otto Bauer, Evan Stone (pre-haircut), Tommy Gunn, Lee Stone, Rob Rotten, Blue Iris, and Ron Jeremy (as the ringmaster, of course)... well, it sure beats a trip to Barnum & Bailey's. Hell, even Cirque du Soleil is starting to pale in comparison to this take on the big top. We just hope there's only one ring—we'd hate to miss out on any of the action!

Penny Flame Roughs Us Up With Her "Expert Guide To Rough Sex"

If there's one thing we love (almost) as much as Penny Flame, it's gotta be rough sex. And Penny Flame plus rough sex? Well, that's like we've died and gone to pervy heaven.

We've been eagerly anticipating "Penny Flame's Expert Guide To Rough Sex" for almost a year now—ever since Penny and Tristan first announced the casting call for the project. Given our history of appreciation for the Vivid-Ed line of eduporns, and the fact that Penny Flame makes us melt, and, ahem, the fact that we enjoy a good (consensual!) roughing up... well, it's just hard to picture that this DVD could be anything less than a smashing success.

Of course, overly high expectations have gotten us in trouble before, so we tried to restrain ourselves as we pushed the DVD into our player. Our prudence turned out to be unnecessary: this film really is as good as we'd hoped.

As with all Vivid-Ed releases, this one begins with a lecture. Well, almost: right before the lecture, Penny introduces her animated helpers, Angel Penny and Devil Penny, who've been brought in to replace the overly whimsical Penny Pop-Up and Lube Fairy seen in "Penny Flame's Expert Guide To Handjobs" (you know, to show some sensitivity for the seriousness of the topic). But after that, it's on to the lecture: Penny walks us through the basics of rough sex, covering topics like communicating with your partner, picking a safe word, and—best of all, where (and how) to safely pinch, pull, slap, and smack your partner to your erotic delights. Assisting Penny in her demonstrations is a very eager (and very naked) Mia Lelani, who offers up her body as an educational tool.

Then, of course, it's on to the sex: and this is where the release really shines. The release offers three scenes (two maledom, and one femdom), where performers live out their rough sex fantasies. Intercut with the action are brief interludes of each performer explaining what, exactly, appeals to them about rough sex—and these interludes help increase the scenes' intensity: we know these people really want it rough.

The first of the three scenes features Penny Flame and Derrick Pierce. Though Penny's a fan of rough sex in her personal life, this is actually her first on-camera rough scene—and it's a really, really good one. Penny and Derrick play around with facefucking, slapping, choking, orgasm denial, and all sorts of fun D/S, and it's thrilling to watch their interchange and connection play out on screen. Okay, it's also thrilling to watch Penny get slapped around and forcefully fucked... but largely because she's just so incredibly into it.

Next we're introduced to Aiden Starr and Devin, who explore humiliation, dirty talk, and, yes, more D/S. This time, Aiden's in charge, and the roughness is more verbal than physical. Aiden orders Devin around, calling him a dog, tying him up, and turning him into her sex slave for a delicious femdom scene.

Mark Davis and Lexi Belle are featured in the final—and most intense—scene. Mark, an experienced player, dominates Lexi, ordering her around and pushing her boundaries, seeing how far she can go before she reaches her limits. It's this scene that has one of the best "teachable moments"—at a particularly intense point, Mark slaps Lexi across the face, which ends up being more than she can take. This leads in to Mark checking in with Lexi, and making sure that she's okay (and okay with continuing), before the two continue playing. It's a nice demonstration of the continuous communication that's an integral part of rough sex—and of the fact that just because someone's reached their limit, it doesn't mean that the entire scene has to be ruined.

All in all, it's an excellent release—though there was one thing we found a little troubling. Though the release limits its discussion of choking to a few voiceovers warning the viewer about the dangers of the practice (and rightly so—there's no such thing as "safe" choking), the performer testimonials are peppered with statements about how great choking is. Granted, the testimonials are intended to depict real life rough sex experiences, and in real life, people choke and experiment with breath play—caution be damned!—but it's an odd juxtaposition to see in an educational release.

[EDIT: Turns out there is an entire mini-feature on the DVD on erotic asphyxiation, which we missed out on cause we had a pre-release copy. Tristan says it's full of talk about risk, risk reduction, and even demonstrations of techniques. Which definitely puts our mind at ease.]

"Penny Flame's Expert Guide To Rough Sex" is a great release for any couple looking to get into rough play—or anyone at all interested in watching some hot, rough sex porn. We've got our fingers crossed that Penny and Tristan are planning a second edition of this expert guide—we'd love to see Penny & co. tackle more advanced rough sex techniques, exploring incorporating toys, tools, and maybe even role play to heighten the experience.

Kimberly Kane Has Sasha Grey for Dessert

There are a lot of arresting images in Kimberly Kane's movie "Live in My Secrets." There are horses, lizards, and eating utensils, for example. But none so compelling as Sasha Grey as IHOP menu item.

A bewigged Kimberly Kane masturbates with a lollipop in a scene that looks like it was taken from an old Mexican movie, save for the lollipop masturbation. April Flores cavorts with lizards, Aiden Starr treats Tyler Knight like a horse (as an actual horse looks on), Claire Adams opens up Bobbi Starr with a fork and knife, and Sasha Grey gives Kimberly Kane her red wings.

These scenes and more comprise Kane's directorial effort "Live in My Secrets," a glorious, evil little vignette movie.

In fact, the Adams/Starr scene is one of the best, if not the best, girl/girl bondage scene I have ever seen. It takes its time, lingers in places, and sometimes threatens to end but doesn't. At one point the girls take a break and Adams makes Starr groom her before grabbing fistfuls of Starr's hair. It emphasizes the serenity of the submissive experience (and also makes the viewer cheer on Adams to fuck Bobbi harder).

A game Tyler Knight is trussed and suspended in a horse paddock while the vampire-white sex hydrant Aiden Starr toys with him. "You've got white person all over your face," she says.

In scenelets over too soon, Mandy Morbid flounces around Hollywood and April Flores becomes Queen of the Reptiles.

Finally Kane (blonde this time) has the Messiest Sex Ever with Sasha Grey, making sure to let us know - albeit briefly - that the red stuff all over Kane's mouth and Grey's thighs is strawberry syrup. Otherwise viewers would think the girls were doing test shots for Vivid's ill-fated OctoMom movie.

Live in My Secrets is a gorgeous movie that doesn't skimp on hardcore action and, arty as it is, doesn't let technique get in the way of what people buy porn movies for. The editing is precise and we don't hear Kane the director except when she's in front of the camera as a performer.

And the images—a closeup of Kane holding on to a wrought iron bedrail, Grey giving birth to an ice cream topping, Bobbi Starr's face, spent after getting the business from Claire Adams, and Aiden Starr pondering a move that spelled curtains for Catherine the Great—are all strong choices that would each of them define lesser movies.

I am glad that Kane got some of these secrets off her chest, though I wish she'd worked them out with me, a friend, if they were causing her so much trouble. Still, I am curious what else she might be hiding in there (hoping there's some ducks).
