At 27 stories long, "Dirty Girls" is a book for "literary size queens" (at least according to editor Rachel Kramer Bussel). Even though we usually tend to prefer our books short and sweet—who doesn't like a good quickie?—we can't deny that this book is well worth a read: from girls who like to take to stories of girls who like to be taken; girls who like girls, girls who like boys, and girls who like both; waitresses, dommes, college professors, college students ... well, you can probably figure out that there's something for everyone in this collection. Kiss My Bliss: Australia Does Altporn

If we were still in grad school, we might look at this video and say something about how Kimberly Kane is subverting traditional notions of the male gaze and establishing a gynocentric hegemony of vision by recontextualizing her role in the relationship between artist and subject. How To Fake An Orgasm In Porn (Or Not)
OK, so maybe we've been a little hard on Tyra Banks this week following the barely restrained sensationalist hysteria of her "Porn For Women" show on Monday: she might be an overbearing control freak with a tendency to overmug for the camera when attempting to express basic emotions like shock or amusement, but at least she gave our own Violet Blue a chance to explain what to look for when you're watching a porn movie to tell whether a female performer is faking her orgasms or not. Maybe America's daytime viewing audience learned something else this week besides the fact that Tyra really doesn't like porn after all!

America has waited with tremendous patience for Tyra Banks to broadcast her highly anticipated andhypocritically self-serving slightly controversial look at the world of porn, and yesterday we were finally rewarded with that Very Special Episode. As you recall, our own Violet Blue played a part of this media circus and while it was fun to see one of our own on the teevee (even if her plug of a certain website was mysteriously edited out), we particularly enjoyed this segment in which housewives watch porn and then argue over its merits like the Red vs. Blue State stereotypes they were instructed to be. Unfortunately, we're afraid that we can't take sides in this fight without the answer to one key question: What movie were they watching? After all, if someone out there is actually defending "Kim Kardashian: Superstar," we just might have to switch our allegiance. (Also, where do we get our own "Love Butler"?)
