"Pirates II" Premiere: An Arrr-Rated Affair Of The Ass

"Get on that carpet!" growled Max Hardcore to his jittery arm candy as a strolling Mexican family observed. "They need to see you!" The event was the "Pirates II" premiere at downtown L.A.'s jewel box Orpheum Theatre this weekend, and the adult industry was on notice that if they didn't attend they would be kicked out and banished to perform random blowjobs in Vancouver. Vancouver, Washington, no less. That is why Fleshbot West attended, and brought you the following report.

The biggest American adult industry event prior to January's AVN Expo, the "Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge" premiere attracted most of the movie's stars including Jesse Jane, Katsuni, Stoya, the sylphlike Riley Steele, Evan Stone, Tommy Gunn, Steven St. Croix, and David Aaron Clark, seen here with Jandi Lin, whose process in his pivotal whore-negotiating scene involved eating two turkey legs.

"I was there for two days of shooting," he said.

The premiere marks the midpoint of "Pirates"-related marketing and publicity, coming more than three years after the debut of its predecessor's first press release and three years before the collected weight of all its publicity efforts will sink the Pacific Rim (which, considering the analingus involved in this movie, would have made a good subtitle).

The only porn stars to arrive dressed like pirates were the swashbuckling Nicki Hunter and Tommy Gunn, the Stagnetti of the title, who wore his evil glass eye.

"I wasn't in the movie much," he said. "But I'm hoping for a Supporting Actor nomination," Gunn said.

"But you were the title character," we observed. Hollywood is so unfair.

Former Digital Playground contract performer Teagan prowled the red carpet for XBiz which, like rival AVN, now features video interviews. If only Sophia Santi and Janine had been there, it would have been a "Pirates" reunion.

Other porn luminaries in attendance were publicity magnet Kayden Kross, Aiden Starr, Bobbi Starr (no relation), Ringo Starr (not actually there), Satine Phoenix, Jenna Haze, and Sasha Grey, who came dressed as Sasha Grey.

As usual, Ange Venus, who plays the inscrutable Katsuni's henchwoman in the movie, attracted most of the attention on the red carpet, wearing almost nothing but her hair. Katsuni by comparison dressed very elegantly. It was as if Venus was going to the MTV Awards and Katsuni to the Golden Globes.

This reporter spent so much time outside that he did not get in on the free bar in the lobby, but by then the movie was starting. The crowd cheered as the first popshot broke over Shay Jordan's prow. You Are Not Ready For "Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge"

As the massive, seemingly interminable countdown to the release of Digital Playground's "Pirates II" ticks down to its final minutes, Porn Valley is readying to don its melon body spray-scented finest for the movie's world premiere screening in Hollywood tomorrow night. In the meantime, we here at Fleshbot are sitting here in our underwear as usual getting ready to upload even more behind-the-scenes preview pics from what we're assured is "the most expensive adult movie of all time". We do, after all, want you to be sure you're getting your money's worth. (And we don't even have to get dressed to do it!)

By this point, of course, the original "Pirates" needs no introduction (unless you happen to be a curiously dismissive blog tipster): aside from being the best selling porn movie of all time, it's still selling like crazy and has even had the distinction of being edited down from its adult version and made available for rental at the formerly Mormon-owned Blockbuster, which means that even Mit Romney and his extended family have probably seen it.

While it has a tall order to follow, "Stagnetti’s Revenge" continues in its predecessor's fine tradition with an absolutely stellar cast including Digital Playground contract stars Stoya™, Riley Steele™, Jesse Jane™, Gabriella Fox™, and Shay Jordan™ along with the non-trademarked Katsuni, Sasha Gray, Belladonna, Rhylee Richards, Jenna Haze, Abbey Brookes, Brea Lynn, Brianna Love, Veronica Rayne, and Shyla Stylez. (Wow, just typing that cast list made our hands tired. Imagine how they'll feel once we get our screener copy!)

Director-slash-seafaring visionary Joone literally spared no expense for the sequel—as in, he actually built a fucking pirate ship from scratch for the production, hired mainstream fight choreographers and stunt coordinators, added over 600 special effects, and catered each shoot with Beluga caviar and gold leaf-encrusted foie gras sliders (OK, maybe that last part is just a rumor). Meanwhile, many of his pornic competitors have been busy trying to make ends meet by rereleasing compilations discs and cutting their feature budgets down to practically nothing. Take that, one-camera gonzo auteurs!

But will the final product live up to the hoopla? We'll just have to wait until the premiere to find out. Until then, enjoy the preview pics below while we find something clean to wear for tomorrow night.

"Pirates II" and Bella, Too

"Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge" is in production, and it will feature a crossover from Belladonna, which in porn terms is like Captain Kirk visiting "The Love Boat" and nailing Julie. In terms of sales, "Pirates" is the "Hotel California" of porn movies. Since we first saw a hasty trailer for the sequel in January 2007 and it hasn't actually started shooting until this month, we'll try to protect our readers' tender expectations as much as we can. But apparently Belladonna and Jesse Jane have a pas de deux and, according to Belladonna, "I have only two days left to learn to swordfight."
