If there was one artist whose work definitely belongs in our collection here at the palatial Fleshbot Central headquarters, it's California-based painter Britt Ehringer. Our friends at Sexblo.gs say they haven't been as happy to discover a talent like Ehringer's in a long time, and we can see why: his brightly colored and stunningly composed pastiches composed of found porn images and other bits and bobs of pop ephemera are like little bits of Fleshbot writ large on canvas—minus all the squirting videos and models wearing creepy masks, of course. (Though maybe we should examine his portfolio a little closer just to make sure we're not missing anything.)

There's high art and then there's toilet humor—and then there's a third category altogether, which is a delightfully perverse combination of both. Natalie Fabia's solo show "Ladies on the Loo," which opened last weekend at the Black Market Gallery in Los Angeles, would fall into the third category, with paintings of pretty and disheveled girls sitting on toilets. Sure, we've all seen fetish photographs featuring ladies indulging in these most intimate of moments before before. But stifle that yawn, because Natalie's work has a sense of humor and foxy ladies as well—or as she puts it, "peeing and pretty flowers!"

Aleksey + Marina is an artistic partnership between Aleksey Kozlov, the photographer, and his partner Marina Khlebnikova, an artist who uses a unique style of painting to brush and etch directly on to the negatives of his shots. This "photopainting" technique creates a bizarre, almost surrealistic image, somewhere between a photograph and a watercolor. The Russian pair also collaborates on other projects, like more traditional art nudes and erotic calendars. Their Flash websites can be slow to load, and there is some background audio to be aware of, but the patient will be rewarded with a healthy mix of art and hot naked boobies ... which is sort of what we strive for every day. The "art" being optional, of course.

We're pretty easy to please here at Fleshbot: put naked girls in suggestive poses with just about anything and make pictures of it and we'll be happy. Add a little novelty, like, say, girls and octopuses (even if we prefer the more pedantic plural "octopodes", but why quibble?) and we'll be ecstatic. But full-time artist and part-time porn star Zak Smith, whose career highlights this year included a show at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art as well as a star turn opposite Veronica Jett in Benny Profane's "Barbed Wire Kiss", isn't satisfied with mere erotic gimmickry, because this is art. His many girls and their octopod companions entwine in every possible way against intricate backgrounds that look like post-psychedelic versions of the dirty-minded Viennese artists of the early twentieth century, making you feel kinda dirty and kinda enlightened at the same time. Which makes us more happy than we can say.

But best of all, there's a lot of variety, from pencil drawings of women wrapped around eagles, to oil paintings of All American Ass, to photographs of girls in latex riding each other like ponies. Francisco Guerrero is an artist and teacher from Seattle who has occasionally been accused of objectifying women, even though the girls stare out from his paintings as if they're ready to own you. The come-hither poses of Maxim and other porn mags are part of his inspiration, and he occasionally uses prostitutes as models, but his images are the antithesis of Photoshopped perfection: dark and smudged, revealing flaws instead of covering them. It often comes as a surprise to people to find out that several members of the Fleshbot editorial staff have academic backgrounds in art history, but the truth is that we don't see much difference in, say, curating a museum exhibit and deciding on which porn we're going to feature on the site every day: both involve selecting visual examples which tell us something about the times in which they were created. As artist Ann Jones explains on her site, "The diabolical plan to fly planes into the WTC was insofar by all means an act of pornography, like 'Ass to mouth' or 'Double Penetrations' can be seen as a form of terror". We don't exactly agree with her equating consensual sex with terrorism, but her "Chasey in Wonderland" series of paintings takes her line of reasoning to interesting ends. Here, images of fondly remembered porn goddess Chasey Lain are superimposed on backgrounds of notorious catastrophes and depictions of misery and terror like the Challenger explosion and Pol Pot-era Cambodia. Maybe Jones is trying to say that even the worst of things don't look so bad when you paint a pair of fabulous breasts on top?
