Thankfully, they went a different—and far more clever—route.

The one disappointment here? The promo balloons only feature men receiving oral pleasure. Granted, a woman on the balloon wouldn't have worked quite as well—but here's hoping this team can come up with something equally clever for the ladies.

<![CDATA[When Bad Advertising Happens To Good Sex Museums]]> We've always loved the Museum of Sex, so it's especially disappointing to see them end up with an ad like this. Does anyone actually think that bad sex is better than good masturbation?

If so, we'd really like to teach them a thing or two (or at least direct them to our Marital Aid Test Kitchen).

<![CDATA[Sex In Design/Design In Sex @ NYC's Museum of Sex]]> With all the bad porno titles, poorly made sex toys, and uncomfortable lingerie out there, it can be easy to forget that good design and hot sex can (and should) go together. If you're feeling overwhelmed by cheap sex and even cheaper sex toys, put down that vibrating CyberSuck and head over to New York City's Museum of Sex for the brand new "Sex in Design/Design in Sex" exhibit, a refreshing look at all the ways sex and design overlap and interact. From erotic images in everyday advertising to innovative designs for sex toys and condoms, this showcase reminds us just how attention to detail can make the world a sexier place. Check out our photo gallery from last night's opening reception after the jump.

<![CDATA[Museum Of Sex: A Virtual (Sorta) Tour]]>
In addition to all the balloon-acy last night, the Museum of Sex's 5th anniversary party gave guests an excellent opportunity to peruse the galleries, which showcased some of the remarkable exhibits they've had during their tenure, including current feature on "Kink" and the "Sex and the Moving Image." For those of you who have never had a chance to visit, our video guru Richard Blakeley offers a quick visual glance at the museum's halls. It's a bit of tease, we know, but so are most of the "implements" on display in the permanent collection. And that's just the way you like it, isn't it?

<![CDATA[Museum Of Sex Turns Five]]> Has it really been just five short years since the Museum of Sex first opened its doors on 5th Avenue in New York City? This long-overdue institution of lower learning sometimes goes unnoticed amid the debauchery of its surrounding environment, but we still say it's the best place to go for an educated tour of our kinky world. (It's also a perfect first date destination.) Last night, they celebrated their anniversary the only way they know how—penis balloon fights! Ok, there was some other stuff going on too, but it got lost in the haze of tattoo ink, drilldos, and chicken fingers. Fortunately, we bumped into Nikola Tamindzic and his camera and he kindly made us this memory book of the evening. Oh, boy ... it's all coming back to us now.
