We were quite shocked and awed the other day when our TV told us that 1990s campfest American Gladiators was not only returning to television, but had earned a spot on NBC's primetime schedule. (Take that striking writers!) It took us back to the days of watching gals like Blaze and Zap pummel unsuspecting frat boys in flashy red, white and blue unitards. (Actually, those might have been the dudes names.)

The sports world was shocked last week to learn that a young, attractive, obscenely wealthy, and ridiculously talented professional athlete might possibly be dating a stripper. (He's also married to a non-stripper, which we guess is the shocking part.) Normally, the late night shenanigans of New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez would be left to those who ~~actually care~~ are better qualified to discuss such things, but something about this story managed to catch our eye. It must have been the nude pictures of A-Rod's (hee-hee ... "rod") alleged paramour, Joslyn Morse, that were dug up from her stint in Playboy back in 2001. Now we're interested! We don't really have anything to add to the story, other than the observation that these photo lend credence to the rumor that the slugger likes the "muscular" type. It's good to know they have something in common.

If you're going to do photographic figure studies, it helps if you start with interesting, you know ... figures. Sita Mae Edwards chooses models with sharp, cut lines that bring their own definition to the image. A healthy amount of skin art helps liven things up as well. Her photos are all about the shape and form of the human body—male and female—and it's hard to think of a better use for the camera. Except for maybe cat photos. Those little guys are soooo cute!

After last week's post on the subject gave us a new appreciation for musclebound ladies, we had to share this video of two female bodybuilders giving each other the respect they deserve. Judging by the hairstyles (circa 1987) and the music (circa 1952) this clip seems a bit dated, but since the genre has turned out to be surprisingly thin in content (at least as far as free online video clips are concerned), we aren't going to be too picky about it. We are going to start complaining about mainstream lesbian porn, however, because we now realize it doesn't contain nearly enough of girls carrying other girls around like rag dolls. That's one technique we really need to start seeing more of.
