Anyone who's spent any amount of time reading Fleshbot over the years knows that the relationship between sex and videogames has always occupied a special place in our, uh, hearts (and we totally have the callouses on our thumbs to prove it!) If you want to school yourself on the illustrious (and not-so-illustrious) history of pixelated T&A and don't feel like browsing our entire archives, however, you could do a lot worse than watch this amusing and informative semi-animated documentary which packs a surprising amount of material into its nine minutes, and makes a strong case for exploring and celebrating sexuality in the development of gaming as an art form. The days of disco were a wild time, full of dancing, drugs, and — of course — lots of sex. Or at least, that's what we've heard. We're a little too young to actually remember the heady days of Studio 54, but lucky for us VH1's Rock Doc "Sex: The Revolution" (finally) premieres tonight and for the next four days, we'll be sure to get our fill of all the sleazy hot history we can handle. Below, find out why people are still talking about New York's legendary nightclub thirty years later.

Back in the 1970's, an ambitious porn star named Tara Alexander sought to make history: in the cleverly named "Spermathon", held at famed New York City sex club Plato's Retreat, she announced that she would get it on with a then-record breaking 86 men in one night. (Sure, that record might have been long surpassed since then, but we still get tired just thinking about it!) Did she succeed? Was she able to walk afterwards? And where did they find all those men? Researchers combing through the Cold War era files of the East German secret police in Berlin have uncovered a startling new secret about the military powerhouse that struck fear into the hearts of Western Europeans for decades—they loved their porn. In fact, they didn't just watch it ... they made it! Lots of it. Even though porn was officially outlawed under the Communist regime, in the 1980s an army base in Biesdorf became a de facto porn studio with over 160 East German soldiers and officers directing, shooting and even starring in hardcore porn films that were shown at parties for the Army's top brass. But now their dirty secret is out, and German TV has even broadcast a few scenes (clips please, German readers!) proving that the German Democratic Republic (which was neither Democratic nor a Republic; discuss) was better at spying on its people than fucking them. But was it better than "Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS?" We're going to need more double agents to know for sure.

A Brief History Of Boobs

We're a little annoyed at our father right now, because we just got another painful reminder of how he neglected us ... by failing to save all the useless crap from his childhood that would be super valuable today. No baseball cards, no stamps, no G.I. Joe dolls in their original unopened packaging. It's like he wasn't even thinking of us (or our eBay accounts) at all! Outside of a few random Playboy's, he couldn't even be bothered to save any classic smut from those bygone days. Fortunately, some of his generation showed a little more foresight and passed down those long forgotten, but still quite entertaining porn rags from the 1950s and '60s.
