To put some context to this: the flaccid penis, shown in Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned, belongs to Congressman Thomas Stubbs, who bares all after receiving a massage at a gentleman's club. In other words, it's actually (relatively) justified by the plot—well, as much as any nudity, sex, or violence is ever justified in GTA.

Now if only they'd show an actual (digital) erect penis in the next installment. That would be worth getting worked up about.

The Grand Theft Auto "Hot Coffee" mod might've gotten certain lawyers' panties in a bunch last year, but it definitely caught the eye of the marketing folks at New Line Cinema, who have ripped off GTA cannily incorporated some serious virtual cunnilingus action into a game promoting the release of mob potboiler "Running Scared". You'll have to pass a vaguely creepy age verification test in order to play the GTA-clone "Welcome to Grimley" (which checks your information against a dodgy identity database to make sure you're old enough)—but hey, it isn't every day you get to pleasure a female partner using some slick "Dance Dance Revolution"-like keyboard moves to the sound of disturbingly realistic moans and slurping noises, so we figure the potential privacy issues pale in comparison.

With Digital Playground's announcement that it would adopt Blu-Ray technology in future DVDs, the format war between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD appears to be going the way of the pretty, violet-lasered, higher-capacity storage solution (although Vivid is hedging its bets). While the adult industry is often a little dim on what is and isn't high definition, it is often given the credit for pushing the Internet forward, for better or worse, and being the deciding factor in format conflicts of the past (Betamax: R.I.P.)

That Sony will be using Blu-ray for its Playstation 3 (correction added) and because gamers often have a passing acquaintance with porn, the decision seems solid.

So what will the first porn Blu-ray disc be? We are betting it will be "25 Gigs of Tasteful Boobies" (but a source at Digital Playground assumes it will be "Pirates")

As much as we hate to admit defeat, we were glad to see that someone had posted a video clip of that "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" "Hot Coffee" mod we posted about a few weeks ago and have been trying to get to work ever since. Now that we've seen it, we can definitely see why some people are getting so upset: not because we think depictions of consensual sex with hookers in mature-rated videogames are wrong or anything, but because it sends the message that it's possible for men to have intercourse without unzipping their flys or taking a single article of clothing off ... and is this really the misguided lesson we want impressionable members of the gaming community to get from their entertainment?
