The Most Important Movie To Be Released This Or Any Other Summer came out to near unanimous praise last week, but it did have one fatal flaw: it chose to have two horribly disfigured men as the villains instead of, say, a sexy female seductress dressed in a skin-tight catsuit. If we didn't already know that Halloween is a perfect excuse for otherwise unadventurous souls to be a little more, um ... adventurous with their wardrobe than usual, that New York Times article we posted about last week certainly illuminated the phenomenon further. While it's true that turning "pirate" into "sexy pirate" or "cop" into "sexy cop" isn't that creative, it's hard for us to object to anything that gives us an excuse to ogle more cleavage (though we still insist that simply putting on a pair of cat ears doesn't make you a cat.) Lube or no lube, there's (alas) no way we'll be getting on a plane to England anytime soon, which means we'll miss out on the UK Erotic Awards ceremony taking place this weekend. This charity event not only raises money for a worthy cause, it honors the artists, performers, activists and inventors who strive to make our lives a whole lot sexier. It also doesn't hurt that the ceremony itself is part of the Sex Maniacs Ball, an erotic cabaret show which kicks in after the winners are presented with their hand-carved "golden flying penis trophies".
