So, I don't know what to think. The creative germ is in most things, & authorial licence extends to & includes murder (it's when you do it, not when you say it, that is the point; to wit, Steinbeck's George kills Lenny, but JS was not advocating the murder of the retarded, nor did he ever kill anyone himself), so on that level, I have no complaint. But will this inspire abuse, up to & including murder? Don't know. It might. Though if one goes on to kill somebody, I would argue that to point to any one trigger is futile. Somebody who ends up a killer had that germ in one's psyche to start; it was just a question of opportunity, & less so, motive, as to whether or not a killing would occur.

*Idea borrowed from n+1's piece on the Virginia Tech shooter, as written by Wesley Yang. Giovanni did write a poem with such violent imagery, of course, but it was about Afro-Americans killing WASP & Jewish targets.
