Oh boy I bet Eva Green in The Dreamers is fucking FABULOUS on blu-ray. If that ever hits blu-ray, I just might have to do something about it.
Otherwise. this still doesn't make me want to buy a blu-ray player or blu-ray discs. And that says a lot cause if there was one thing that would make me a converter, it would be something like this. It will be obsolete in 10 years so I'll just wait for whatever that turns out to be.
proof yet again that women are staying younger looking longer, whether that is just due to better living and exercise, or by artificial means (plastic surgery), but there are so many damn FINE celebrity women over the age 40 these days.
I had quite the obsession with Ms. Seymour (& Christensen too) in my early teen days. She still looks amazing. Like someone found a stash of pics from the past. Wow!
"...we've never even seen a Blu-Ray player, let alone actually used one..."
What?! How is this possible. Guys, it's not like DVD's are going to come back in style... you're living in the past if you continue buying them over Blu-ray versions (or renting them, as you should also be doing).
@MCWHAMMER: My DVD player is my computer. And I don't really buy DVDs.
Also, to be honest, I think Blu-Ray isn't the future--the future is digital content. So why invest a ton of money in something that's going to be obsolete in a a matter of years?
@Lux Alptraum: digital content won't be the future until our country catches up to the rest of the civilized world in terms of broadband penetration (hehe, i know) and broadband speed. BUT...I do understand Lux's position, as Blu-Ray drives for PCs are still kinda pricey, and you need to make sure your video card and monitor are both HDCP compliant. I have a PS3, and honestly I watch my existing DVDs more than I do Blu-Rays, partially because the PS3 is also a fantastic up-scaling DVD player. I still prefer to buy and watch Blu-Rays for new movies and I've only replaced a very few of my existing DVDs with a Blu-Ray.
@FrancesTheMute: We've got a long time until the digital switch really happens for movies. Right now, with a pretty fast connection, I can go out, rent a movie, come back, and watch the whole thing by the time I've downloaded an entire movie in non-compressed 1080p movie (and most streaming services do not offer real 1080p). And I care about special features.
Once more, traditional media has scooped the blogs. Deadspin's Decadium was going to have a point-counterpoint Girlfriend Experience. Now, that'll be scrapped.
@Come a little Miroslav Klose You're My Kind of Man: For this feature, Newsweek took some risks in selecting their writers, and I'd say that they did a good job. Seeing Sasha's writeup was refreshing. It was a nice mix of contributors that included Tracie Egan (Jezebel), Allison Vivas, Heidi Fleiss, Rachel Maddow, and Dan Savage (whose bit on Larry Craig was excellent).
@fragile: I'm not sure that I would be excited to read her views on the WTO & the UN Security Council. But I would rather see her take on topics such as the global repression of women's rights - and how the degree of oppression of women correlates 100% with denying the freedom sexual expression (i.e. porn).

I approve this reason.
