Commissioned in celebration of the April Flores cyberskin pussy, the show features, yes, plaster molds of April's ladybits, painted in a variety of styles by artists like Axis, Carlos Batts, COOP, Jim Mahfood, Kime Buzzelli, Kozy & Dan, Misha, and Small Paul. The show will be at La Luz de Jesus Gallery on May 13 (sadly, it's one night only)—but get a sneak peek at some of the art over on April's blog.

<![CDATA[Van Rijn All Nudes Are All We Need]]> The name of Van Rijn's portfolio site pretty much sums it all up: Van Rijn All Nudes. Well, maybe it doesn't sum it all up, but vanrijnallbeautifullydrawnnudeillustratedwomen.com is a rather unwieldy URL.

Frankly, we think he made the right choice about what to advertise.

<![CDATA[Tsang Kinwah: High Art And Secret Porn]]> At first glance, Tsang Kinwah's painting looks like just a greyish rectangle—perhaps a colorblind Mondrian, or some other sort of high art. But if you look closely, and maybe squint a little (okay, a lot), you'll start to see a bit of detail, a bit of definition, a bit of, uh, hardcore oral action. Yes, not only is this high art—it's also secret hardcore porn. There is probably some deep statement at work here... but we're just wondering if it's possible to use this technology to create some truly safe-for-work porn. Anyone have any ideas?

<![CDATA[Whore Doors and Dirty Birdies: The Art of Ken Keirns]]> Painter, illustrator and sculptor Ken Keirns has a bio that's as good as they get, including such nuggets as "He has always wanted to be an artist, except for that short-lived stunt man period when he was nine." We're glad that he ended up being what he (mostly) wanted to be when he grew up, since we're already big fans of the whimsy, attitude, and general boobfulness of his work. Check out his "Whore Doors" full-size portraits of sex workers painted on (surprise!) actual doors; his "art toys", where vintage Fisher Price doodads are turned into porno playthings; and all those paintings of the muse who pops up again and again throughout his portfolio, whose very nice rack is worth a visit in its own right.

<![CDATA[Deeper Inside Carlos Batts (And April Flores Too)]]> We're thankful for all the serious fap time we've spent with the fine work of artist and filmmaker Carlos Batts, whose "Kiss Attack" and "Voluptuous Life" left a lasting impression on our porn-addled brains (and some lasting stains on our porn-saturated couches, but that's another story). So we really enjoyed this in-depth video interview with Batts on Fine Art TV, featuring commentary by fetish photographer Eric Kroll and Batts' muse and helpmeet (and perennial Fleshbot Crush Object) April Flores, along with some descriptions of cool props he's made for his films. At least now we have a little something extra to keep our brains and other squishy bits occupied until Batts' next pornic masterpiece hits the streets; hopefully we'll get to enjoy more of his luscious muse Flores when that happens too.

<![CDATA[Fleshmap: The Data Of Desire]]> You might think you're already an expert when it comes to the way sex and human bodies look and feel—after all, you're reading Fleshbot, aren't you? But datamapping artists Fernanda Viégas and Martin Wattenberg's Fleshmap series may help you visualize those things in ways you've never thought about before: their "Touch" project "reveal(s) a map of sensual desire with multiple focal points and islands of excitement", while "Look" "explores individuality and the hidden surprises that each body reveals when bared". If it all sounds a little too abstract to you from the description, not to worry: the curiously beautiful body part mosaics and nipple matrices that result can simply be enjoyed for their visual qualities even if the actual methodology the artists use to generate them escape you. And at the very least, it should give you something else to think about when looking at bodies the old fashioned way gets a little boring. (Hey, you never know.)

<![CDATA[Amanda Pearson's Obscene Portraits]]> Ever since we saw the flyer for Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art Show floating around New York City a couple of weeks ago, we've been wondering about what this "live obscene drawing" thing is all about. Good thing that lovely (and dirty-minded) artist Amanda Pearson has finally set up a Flickr account so we can finally see just how naughty her naughty caricatures are. If you're feeling overwhelmed by the obscenity—and Amanda's work sometimes does cross that line between the simply "naughty" and full-on filth—she also has some tamer (yet still sexy) artwork on display and more than a few hot shots of herself which are just as artistic as the other stuff, but in a different sort of way.

<![CDATA[BDSM Online: From Russia With Latex]]> Kink must be the universal language, because even though the sprawling BDSMOnline.ru is in Russian, we have no trouble understanding it. There's a vast database of photos, drawings and comics from artists all over the world who take the fetish lifestyle as their main source of inspiration: all the whips, ball gags, and gimp masks your pervy little heart could ever desire. With such a huge gallery and wide range of images, it's hard to focus in on any one artist, but we will admit a particular fondness for the art of Trevor Brown and Brian Tarsis. (Not to mention this image: Marge Simpson, we had no idea!)

<![CDATA[(Very Strange) Art By Billy Reynolds]]>

When we say that Billy Reynolds' pantings are full of things like bouncing boobs and plump, succulent buttocks, please don't think he's just another cheesecake or pinup artist: those boobs are as likely to be attached to Marge Simpson or Wilma Flintstone as they are sprouting from someone's forehead or heaped with a bunch of other body parts and miscellaneous orifices on a bed. Unless you're accustomed to watching porn on peyote (Ed note: who isn't?), you probably won't find much that's erotic about them, though art history geeks can at least get off to the allusions to artists like Picasso, Hans Bellmer, and Philip Guston that pepper his portfolio. And as for any readers who want to know what Lois Griffin really looks like with no clothes on ... well, look no further.

<![CDATA[Sexy Diptychs by Melvin Moten]]>

Should you have been discriminating enough to click through to this post based on the above headline in your RSS reader—we know that the word "diptych" doesn't exactly scream "sexy", never mind the name Melvin—you'll be rewarded with the opportunity to keep on clicking and savor some truly hot new work by photographer Melvin Moten at Erocrush, who's been exploring a new technique in his work since we first posted something about it a few years ago: "I'm not sure what it is about diptychs and multiple imaging that attracts me. Perhaps it's just that I love cinema and the idea of using more than a single frame to tell a story or convey a thought is second nature to me." You can read more about his creative process on his highly illuminating blog, where he discusses his collaborations with his models like Candy here. Or you can just head straight to his portfolio to see more stunning examples of his work. After all, if one picture is worth a thousand words, than two or three of them together must be worth ... er, we're a little too distracted to do the math right now. But you get the idea.

<![CDATA[In The Mood For Love: Places To Pop Your Cherry]]>

If we had to do it all over again, we probably wouldn't change a thing about the first time we had sex: losing our virginity in the cramped confines of the back of a '77 Camaro might have been a little uncomfortable, but at least it's given us some fond memories to rehash at cocktail parties over the years (not to mention reference in a blog post nearly two decades after the fact). Those of you with less memorable experiences, however, might want to check out this virtual exhibit in the new issue of ID Magazine where six designers were asked to create the perfect places for popping one's cherry; the results range from futuristic pod-like platforms that look like something straight out of "Sleeper" to a multistory "Lost Virginity World" complete with an elevator guaranteed to get stuck between floors and a chimney that releases a heart-shaped puff of smoke every time a couple crosses that magic threshhold (awww). And for the record: we'd still choose our '77 Camaro over artist James Victore's '55 Chevrolet Bel Air with "spacious bench seats and Marvin Gaye or Meatloaf on the radio" any day. We miss that damn car.

<![CDATA[2007 Seattle Erotic Art Festival]]>

About the only thing that gets us more excited than a citywide spectacle devoted to sexy art and culture is a website that greets us with the tantalizing words "SEXUAL CONTENT WARNING" in bold caps—and fortunately where this year's Seattle Erotic Art Festival is concerned, we don't have to settle for just one or the other. Alas, you'll have to go to Seattle yourself this weekend to check out what will be heating up the walls of the Fenix Performance Arts Theater in SODO since the festival organizers haven't yet posted any examples by the hundred or so artists whose work will be on display, but given the fact that nearly a dozen printers in the Seattle area refused to print the exhibition catalogue due to its explicit content, you can bet they'll be more than a few pieces that will be just the thing to perk up that chaste space above your sofa if you're so inclined.

<![CDATA[Hot 'Toon Babes By Alessandro Scacchia]]>

Italian artist Alessandro Scacchia's delicious fantasy babes are the kind of hotties you'd expect to see hanging out at the hottest hipster club or fetish party you could imagine—which is probably no surprise given the fact that his work regularly appears in places like the pages of alt fetish bible Skin Two and featured prominently in the debut installment of the Roman edition of NYC's own Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School this past weekend. But you don't need to subscribe to a glossy fetish print magazine or travel to Rome to get a taste of what Scacchia's work is all about—he offers a generous selection of his often tattooed and pierced (but always smokin') lust objects on his online portfolio, where you can also purchase original prints or enjoy his unique brand of fetish pinup hotness on everything from t-shirts to fridge magnets. We're not always fans of this kind of Cafe Press merchandising, but where Scacchia's babes are concerned we say bring it on. (Besides, we don't think they'd really give us a choice. Arguing with a chick in a latex body suit while she's holding a giant syringe is never a good idea.)

<![CDATA[Zak Smith: 19th Floor]]> 2007_02_05_zaksmith.jpg

Artist, Yale grad, punk rock heartthrob, and porn renaissance man Zak Smith told us while we were shooting him in Las Vegas during the AVN Expo last month that he has two faces he makes for photographs: the "gay prostitute" look and the "I fucked your mother; what are you going to do about it?" look. So if watching Zak get a blowjob while lounging around in a fancy bathrobe in our suite at the Venetian isn't your thing (and if his girlfriend's rack doesn't provide enough of a distraction in the event you're especially peen-phobic), you'll hopefully still be able to match the face to the photo and enjoy Nikola Tamindzic's exclusive photospread anyway. <![CDATA[John Currin @ Gagosian Gallery]]>

Considering the fact that he's best known for his critically acclaimed paintings of "stupid women with big tits" you'd think we'd be bigger fans of John Currin, but despite all those quirky curves and remarkable technique we always felt like we were missing something about his work. Still, there are elements of several of the pieces in his current exhibition at the Gagosian Gallery in New York City that we're definitely responding to. Could it be their increasingly refined brushwork? His subtle interplay between detailed observation and postmodern irony? Or maybe it's just the fact that a few of these paintings look like something Larry Flynt would have commissioned for the walls of the Sistine Chapel? We're so wowed by the painterly renditions of cock-stuffing (and so amused that they're likely to wind up hanging over the sofa in some big-ticket art collector's living room) that we can't quite make our usual art vs. porn jokes about them. Sometimes art just winds up in a class by itself.

<![CDATA[Grafuck 2.0]]>

The holiday season brings more than egg nog hangovers and the inevitable tide of hot babes in Santa Claus hats this year; just in time for gift giving comes word from our friends at Cool Hunting about the second edition of Grafuck, the classy international compendium of sexy art and design curated by husband and wife team Fiel Valdez and Peter Vattanatham that features work by over a hundred artists from all over the world including Fleshbot faves Lisa Alisa, Audrey Kawasaki, and Samantha Wolov. There's not much by way of preview material on the official publication site, but you can persue the dozens of links to the contributing artists' online portfolios to get an idea of what's in store; in the meantime, we've already ordered our copy for the Team Fleshbot coffee table. That first edition we have is starting to get a little sticky.
