Oh, and one other thing: this film is apparently not for children! Of course you already know that Ed Wood is best known as the master director of classic sci-fi and sexual horror flicks, like "Plan 9 From Outer Space" and "Necromania." (No, we don't have any copies left.) But did you know he was also a novelist? Yes, he penned the classic "boy meets girl, boy takes girl to graveyard in the middle of the night, boy and girl are sadistically tortured by the dancing undead slaves of the Ruler of the Dark" love story, also known as "Orgy of the Dead." Naturally, his screenplay was turned into a movie where Ed's mixture of high camp, big bosomed lady vamps, and awesome fight scenes could be better appreciated. We never really studied the works of Sigmund Freud—other than a little dream transference and subconscious repression—but we feel like he would be totally down with this incredible tribute to his psychosexual analytic theories. In fact, if our non-expert interpretation of "The Ego and The Id" is correct, male and female subjects often manifest their hidden childhood traumas about parental dissatisfaction by constantly getting it on in the middle of open fields. We've got nothing against our own parents, but maybe we should give this therapy thing a try.

Vintage Girly Magazines: Now In Blog Form!

We're a little annoyed at our father right now, because we just got another painful reminder of how he neglected us ... by failing to save all the useless crap from his childhood that would be super valuable today. No baseball cards, no stamps, no G.I. Joe dolls in their original unopened packaging. It's like he wasn't even thinking of us (or our eBay accounts) at all! Outside of a few random Playboy's, he couldn't even be bothered to save any classic smut from those bygone days. Fortunately, some of his generation showed a little more foresight and passed down those long forgotten, but still quite entertaining porn rags from the 1950s and '60s.

Most have titles you've never heard of and babes you don't recognize, but their ~~fapping~~ historical value cannot be denied, as these complete issue scans found on the Vintage Girly Magazines blog can attest. We still love our dad, but maybe that Father's Day card won't be quite as big this year.
