Ning, a ring of branded mini-social networks, will discontinue its "Red Light District" as of January 1, shuttering its adult-themed sites in an attempt to class up the joint (or at least increase ad revenues and get the DMCA off its back). On the other side of the internet, YouTube—which is already pretty antiporn—will tighten restrictions even further, broadening their criteria for "sexually suggestive" (and thus 18+) material. Sweded Porn: Be Kind, Rewind, And Undress

Anyone who saw the Jack Black/Mos Def/Michel Gondry film "Be Kind Rewind" earlier this year already understands the joy of being "Sweded." If you didn't see it—well, it's a bit complicated, but basically a Sweded film is an amateur remake of a classic movie using homemade props and your friends as actors, which is how the main characters in "Be Kind" save their small town video store from greedy land developers. (It made more sense at the time.) The marketing department at video sharing site Shufuni must have seen it too, because now they're asking users to make their own Sweded movies—but with nudity and sex, of course. And they're offering prizes to the best interpretations.

It's sort of like what "Pirates II" would be to "Pirates of the Caribbean," if the porn version didn't have a bigger budget. Just like that blockbuster, no one has actually finished one for Shufuni yet, but we predict that this will be the greatest creative advance in the history of porn ... or a colossal internet disaster. The art of the geisha is a tricky one indeed: it's not enough to simply please a man by performing whatever service he asks of you, you must also anticipate his desires before he even knows what they are. And you must be prepared for every possible situation, including telling some guy how awesome his cunt lapping skills are in a strange foreign language. There might be even more helpful advice in these instructional language clips allegedly tailored for geishas who cater to stupid American businessmen—but like most of life, it really only takes a few choice phrases to get through any situation.

Lesbian Kissing Makes Perfect Sense, Even When It Doesn't

A very confused tipster writes to us asking for an explanation of the following YouTube video. It starts off innocently enough, with footage of a random girl-on-girl makeout session: nothing confusing there, but then things take an abrupt turn when the show is interrupted by footage from late-70s schmaltzfest "Eight Is Enough." Then it's back to the lesbian makeout, accompanied by some adult contemporary/soft rock background music. Then you see the opening credits for CSI: NY. Then back to some more Dick Van Patten, then it abruptly ends. In other words, it's a big heaping spoonful of WTF?

The really odd part, however, is that this isn't the only video of its kind: There are whole channels of this stuff on YouTube put together by something called TMO TV, an apparently non-existent outfit with a defunct website. (They might be Canadian, which would explain a lot.) The videos clip together old TV sitcom footage, bite-sized bits from other random movies and TV shows, corny music, and of course a plethora of friendly, tongue-happy lesbians, all disguised as some sort of web TV shows with names like "Lindsey's Secret" and "I Love Pacey". The vids may not make much sense if all you're looking for is hot babe-on-babe action ... but they do deliver promised footage of girls kissing. So it's not a total disaster.

Sorry we couldn't answer our tipster's question. But when it comes to hot girls making out, maybe some questions are best left unanswered anyway.

Sex And Videogames: An (Even Briefer!) History

Anyone who's spent any amount of time reading Fleshbot over the years knows that the relationship between sex and videogames has always occupied a special place in our, uh, hearts (and we totally have the callouses on our thumbs to prove it!) If you want to school yourself on the illustrious (and not-so-illustrious) history of pixelated T&A and don't feel like browsing our entire archives, however, you could do a lot worse than watch this amusing and informative semi-animated documentary which packs a surprising amount of material into its nine minutes, and makes a strong case for exploring and celebrating sexuality in the development of gaming as an art form. (OK, so there's not much by way of actual pixelated T&A; afraid you'll have to dip into our archives for that after all.)
