Classic Sex Ed Videos

2006_04_12_sexed.jpg

As much as we appreciate today's climate of openness concerning all things sexual, the old-fashioned part of us misses the days when kids learned about sex via filmstrips in health class instead of on the internet. So we're tickled that some generous souls have managed to preserve something of the good old days on Google Video by way of a selection of awesome sex education films from the time when talking about sex bordered on the surreal, including rare classics like "The ABCs of Sex Education for Trainables" (a 70's video for sex educators of the mentally disabled with a killer soundtrack); Disney's "VD Attack Plan" (animated germ army planning invasion of human body); "How Much Affection?" (a 1958 take on what to do when petting gets out of control); and "Parent to Child About Sex" (a 1966 gem including the lines "Mary, the baby doesn't come out of your navel. Let me tell you how it is: there's a special opening ... ") There is so much we can say about that last title, but why don't we just dim the lights and roll the film?A. Tolesco
