"Escape from Women's Prison"

Exactly like Terrence Stamp reprising his role from "Poor Cow" 32 years later in "The Limey," ex-con Ashley Blue reinhabits her character from 2003's "Bitches Behind Bars" in "Escape from Women's Prison." (Scientists have proven that five years in porn is like three decades in the outside world - just look at 2006 AVN Performer of the Year Sassy McSassypants.)

Escape from Women's Prison

This is a story about redemption.

Matt comes home to find stranger Ashley Blue smoking a cigarette. "Dad's not home," she says.

"Who the fuck are you?" he says.

"An old friend," she says, exhaling. "You're pretty cute. They'd like you in prison. Would you like to see my pussy?"

Thus begins Escape from Women's Prison, a movie that neatly straddles the gap between a B-movie you wish had more sex in it and a porn movie you wish didn't look so much like a goddamn porn movie. And for Ashley Blue it is the role of a lifetime, an excellent example of her self-fulfilling prophecy style of acting: she speaks abusively and is then fucked abusively.

She forces Matt to fuck her "prison style." You see, she has been there.

"Suck my toes, Prison Boy," she says. "Don't rip my stockings, though. I got them for free when I left prison."

Then:

"Get off me! Is that the best you can do? Don't make me reach up there and slap you! Come on, you worthless fucker! Do I have to fuck myself? What are you doing? Am I too creepy?"

Yes, Ashley. Prison has made you creepy. Because Escape from Women's Prison is actually an updating of 2003's Bitches Behind Bars, a movie that Powers said was not edited the way he would have liked. So he took footage from the original movie, which starred then-porn neophyte Blue, and updated it with new scenes, using the old movie as flashback material.

Blue is paying Matt a visit because his father (Johnny Thrust) was the incompetent lawyer of her prison girlfriend, Maggie.

In flashbacks, we meet Maggie and Blue's fellow prisoners. We share Blue's anguish at having to make her own marital aids in the prison woodshop.

"Is this a shank?" a guard asks, holding a sharpened baseball bat.

"No," she admits. "It's a dildo."

Naturally, the guard makes her prove it. And he's not the only one. Warden Rod Fontana shows a different side from his genial Skipper. In fact, there are no prison employees who don't take sexual advantage of the inmates. It is hard to believe in such circumstances that California's prison guards have the gall to threaten to recall Governor Schwarzenegger for more pay. Look at the perks!

In all, the new scenes look better than the old ones (save for a nice bit of bluster from Fontana), and the update provides a rare look at how five years looks on a porn performer. For Blue, who never got implants, the half-decade interval seems to have not happened at all.

She and Thrust (whose day job is as Powers' production manager) are the only cast members who return and, as far as I can tell, only they, Ben English, and Fontana are still in the adult business.

So why has Blue visited the home of her prison buddy's lawyer? For some horrifying revenge. But you should see the movie to find out what that is.

There's even been talk that Quentin Tarantino plans to follow up his "Grindhouse" nonsense with a remake of "Faster Pussycat Kill Kill" starring Tera Patrick (!)—but it appears that some other Russ Meyer fan has beaten him to the punch. Take a look at the trailer for the subtly-named "Bitch Slap," a brand new sexploitation homage that is sure to make an excellent stocking stuffer when the holidays roll around this year, and you'll see what we mean. The teaser is a little long, but it does provide a tidy synopsis of the entire story and all the characters, so you really do come to understand the themes and symbolism of the film as a whole. However, if you look beneath the surface and carefully examine the subtext, you can get an even deeper sense of the true message of this saga: It's about boobs. Lots and lots of giant boobs. The man was subtle, but trust us, it's there.

This trailer simply levels with you: you want to see crazy swingers having sex under a background of smooth jazz, and that's exactly what you're going to get. It's refreshing, even if that kind of honestly isn't nearly as .... shocking!

(It's also Chapter 5 of this book.) By the way, people love to complain that there is too much nudity and violence in the movies—but have you noticed that no one ever complains about "nude violence"? Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "Stefania" Is A Bad, Bad Girl

We're not really clear on whether this is a movie about a woman's prison or a women's insane asylum—but in the world of '60s exploitation flicks it's all caged heat. Besides, even the narrator can't decide if the romance takes place in the shadow of a dream or its twilight. (We make that mistake a lot.) Other than that, it's pretty typical fare—you know, white slavery, crazed lesbian sex fiends, violent bludgeonings, incest ... the usual. Oh, and one other thing: this film is apparently not for children! It's good thing they said something because we totally looking for something to watch with our nephews this weekend, especially now that "Hannah Montana" is a little too racy for her own good.

Beware Of "The Beast In Space!"

Sexploitation Clip Of The Week: "Orgy Of The Dead"

Of course you already know that Ed Wood is best known as the master director of classic sci-fi and sexual horror flicks, like "Plan 9 From Outer Space" and "Necromania." (No, we don't have any copies left.) But did you know he was also a novelist? Yes, he penned the classic "boy meets girl, boy takes girl to graveyard in the middle of the night, boy and girl are sadistically tortured by the dancing undead slaves of the Ruler of the Dark" love story, also known as "Orgy of the Dead." Naturally, his screenplay was turned into a movie where Ed's mixture of high camp, big bosomed lady vamps, and awesome fight scenes could be better appreciated. Check out this scene where the tension is so thick you could cut it like a rubber kitchen knife cuts bra straps.

Oh, and doing dope and having lots and lots of violent sex with multiple partners. Did you not know about that part? Most folks come back with all their psychological deficiencies still intact, but they all agree that it's the best therapy session they've ever been a part of.

We're a little confused by the title of this film. Do they mean "bad" as in "good," like the kids say sometimes? Because "sensuous swingers who know how to arouse men" doesn't sound that bad at all. (It even says they're good at it!) Plus, if there's a crazy killer who cuts these ladies down for being sexy, then it's seems like he should be the bad guy, doesn't it? You should get your facts right before you start slandering these good/bad girls.

In fact, if our non-expert interpretation of "The Ego and The Id" is correct, male and female subjects often manifest their hidden childhood traumas about parental dissatisfaction by constantly getting it on in the middle of open fields. We've got nothing against our own parents, but maybe we should give this therapy thing a try.

We will never understand how just one man was able to find so many outrageously-endowed beautiful women in one lifetime without access to some form of voodoo magic. However he did it, just knowing that Russ was involved in anything makes us as excited as the announcer on this trailer who can barely contain his joy or the volume of his voice. Just for the record, we totally believe that the wild and dangerous sexual dynamo portrayed in this film was a real person, because we think she may have lived in our dorm building in college. Unnatural passion? Check. Depraved hunger? Sure. A crazed female animal on the prowl? You bet. Makes the flames of hell look like mere burning embers? On the second thought, it probably wasn't the same girl. We think we would have remembered that flames of hell thing.
