If you've been crashing gallery openings, art events and drunken parties around San Francisco for a couple of years and haven't run into Merkley ... well, you obviously haven't been getting out enough. He's instantly recognizable as the tall guy in the outrageous outfit and signature beard, but ldid we know that he also has a knack for taking beautiful pictures of beautiful women—and some of these beautiful women just happen to be some of the best artists on the SF scene in their own right. Take Kelly Tunstall (pictured) — if we weren't already crushing hard enough on her work, we're now hopelessly in love thanks to Merkley's portraits.- J. West
