Jannica Honey likes people. We know that because she says so in her artist statement, but it was also obvious from the moment we saw the photos in her online portfolio. It's people that take center stage in her photographs - their bodies, their faces, and their lives comes into focus, without a lot of fancy lighting and glamorous makeup getting in the way of they really look like. The Swedish-born photographer say her images "are a reaction to the fake visual culture of advertising and fashion" and are intended to "provoke a feeling." If you feel something seeing the human body as it really is, then she is someone you should get to know.
