The dynamic between artists and their patrons is carried to its logical extreme in a new video piece by Andrea Fraser, in which the artist filmed herself having sex in a hotel room with an "unidentified American collector" (who paid $20,000 for the privilege) in "every imaginable position": "My first thought was, If I'm going to have to sell it, I might as well sell it.'' Connoiseurs of institutional critique art smut (surely we're not the only ones?) can watch the result at the Friedrich Petzel Gallery in New York through July 9th.
