Sex On The Brain

2005_07_20_zombies.jpg

Former "Captain Kangaroo" star and psychologist Judith Reisman has made a career of trying to debunk the research of Alfred Kinsey while promoting the idea of "erototoxins", destructive hormonal compounds which she claims are produced as a direct result of watching porn—both of which, unsurprisingly, have made her a popular "authority" figure in various anti-smut crusades. The folks at MindHacks have collected some interesting links to help you explore Reisman's findings in more detail, including an article from last week's Guardian which notes that "Much of Reisman's research in developing her theory has necessitated examining hundreds, perhaps thousands, of pornographic magazines and films. By her own reasoning her brain ought, by now, to be a seething mass of toxic smutmulch". Maybe she should've stuck to performing on children's television instead?
