Porn is full of its own one-shot hit wonders and performers who regularly pop up in "whatever happened to?"-type discussions about the industry; we all know by this point where the road lead for, say, Linda Lovelace, but the whereabouts of Bambi Woods, the enigmatic star of the 1978 classic "Debbie Does Dallas" and two of its sequels, have remained a mystery. Until a few months ago, that is, when a reader's chance encounter in a Melbourne resort led the editor of celeb blog YesButNoButYes on a path that culminates this week in a two-part interview with someone who claims to be Bambi Woods herself. The former Ms. Woods is frustratingly vague about her current location due to understandable privacy concerns (she says she grew up and still lives "two hours flight out of New York", which pretty much narrows things down to anywhere east of the Mississippi), but at least she didn't die of a drug overdose as several persistent rumours over the years have claimed. Of course, this being the interweb it's difficult if not impossible to prove that anyone is who they claim to be based on a handful of email exchanges, but given that the alleged Bambi's post-porn life seems to be a relatively normal one we're happy to believe that her story involves a happy ending after all.
