"Let My People Come": The Sex Musical

The sexual revolution of the 1970s brought a lot of great things to America (so we've heard ... we're not that old), but we're not sure any of them can top the awesomely awesome marriage of sexual liberation, gratuitous nudity, and campy musical theater that was "Let My People Come." This Broadway—yes, it was actually on Broadway—spectacular took the world by storm in 1974, thanks to catchy original tunes, like "Come in My Mouth," "Give It To Me," and the breakthrough single, "I'm Gay." Trust us when we say that the hippies of "Hair" don't seem so cutting edge once you've heard a romantic ballad about the joys of swallowing. Sadly, the show went under due to a lawsuit over the Andrews Sisters' parody "The Cunnilingus Champion of Company C," but the internets are keeping this classic tale alive with complete mp3s of the original cast recording. So instead of that boring old Valentine's Day mix, burn this baby to a CD and take trip back to the oh-so-groovy time when love was free and "Beauty and the Beast" was a whole different type of Times Square show.
