Red Light Center (not to be confused with Red Light World, a smiliar online environment reviewed here a while back) is the newest entry in the virtual playground genre, where people can pretend to be someone they're not, chat with other people pretending to be someone they're not, and then pretend to do naughty things to each other. This particular game/world claims to be like "Amsterdam in cyberspace," only without the hash bar (dang) or art museums. We spent a little time fooling around with the demo and found the environment itself to be surprisingly well-rendered, but sorely lacking in potential partners. You also have to pony up for the VIP version before you can get freaky, but you can try the free download or watch the tour before deciding to part with you hard-earned cash. Either way, it's cheaper than a plane ticket to Holland—but still more expensive than sitting there talking to yourself and playing dress-up in front of your mirror.
