Well, it might have something to do with legal bills arising from increasing challenges by L.A. County and City health agencies demanding the porn biz change its condom and testing policies.

Whatever the cause for the low funds is, Kimberly Kane and Belladonna are addressing - in spectacular fashion - the real fear that, should AIM go away, the porn industry will lose its friendly clinic where everyone is respectfully referred to by one's porn name and where one is shielded from the indignity of explaining what ATOGM is in front of a room of screaming babies.

The benefit at L.A.'s awesome Busby's East (formerly the Conga Room) features the aforementioned date to end all dates raffle as well as appearances by several Wicked Girls (including a jessica drake gift basket sadly not containing jessica drake), Courtney Cummz, Nicki Hunter, Nina Hartley, and probably everyone else.

Not only that, but celebrity MC duties will be handled by Brody Stevens, Chris Nieratko, Ari Shaffir, and Steve Agee. And, almost as exciting as the thought of a 14-foot game of Footsie under your dream date table, my band, Fogelfoot, will also be there. But we will not date you. (There is also a band called The Makers, and I am assured they are nice young men.)

Organizer Kane tells us that all proceeds of the evening (which features two full bars) will be going to AIM. So, if you want Beladonna's ass to continue to be haunted by friendly ghosts, we'll see you on Saturday.

You think today's strain of burlesque is all wholesome and sex positive? Not if you bogart someone's act, sister. Hard Case Crime's "The Corpse Wore Pasties" shows that there's no such thing as friendly competition when tassels are involved.

Burlesque performer Jonny Porkpie wrote the pulp tome (we covered Christa Faust's "The Money Shot" last year) and the book will be feted at the fetid Bleecker Street Theatre on November 21 and 28 with a stage presentation of "Corpse"'s plot performed by burlesque hoofers Dirty Martini, Jo Boobs, Madame Rosebud, and Clams Casino, as well as the book's cover models, Nasty Canasta and GiGi LaFemme.

Is it the end of September already? Why, that means that it's almost time for Arse Elektronika—San Francisco's annual festival devoted to sex, tech, futurism, and, of course, robots and the people who love to fuck them.

This year's edition (theme: "Of Intercourse and Intracourse") promises to be just as exciting as the past two installments; with both io9's Annalee Newitz and Fleshbot alumna Violet Blue on the roster of speakers, we're sure attendees will receive quite a bit of food for thought (and, er, fantasy). Exxxotica New York Comes To New Jersey

What better way to celebrate an industry that calls childless 23-year-olds MILFs, Hawaiians Asians, and Girls-Only performers lesbians (they're only Girls-Only because they have boyfriends, after all) than to hold the Exxxotica New York consumer show in New Jersey?

All the major studios will be sending contract girls to work the crowds at Edison's New Jersey Expo Center, including Wicked's Mikayla Mendez, Vivid's Savanna Samson, and Adam & Eve's Kayden Kross, as well as dozen of famous names (Sasha Grey, Joanna Angel, Eva Angelina, Kylie Ireland, Amy Fisher) and dozens more of intriguingly unfamiliar ones (such as Cherokee D'Ass—please, someone, take me to the Ass region of France, for I intend to retire there).

And for those feeling nostalgic, the Legends of Exxxotica booth with also be featuring retired-but-not-forgotten stars from the past few decades, including Seka, Christy Canyon, and Heather Hunter (as well as some still working legends like Lisa Ann and Mr. Marcus).

Exxxotica NY takes place the weekend of September 25-27, and tickets range from $50 for a day pass to $125 for all three days. The latter translates to 31 cents per star sighting.

The steam-gathering Exxxotica shows, which began in Miami and which rival the dingy Adultcon for #2 status behind January's Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas, are both well-attended and professionally run.

Seminars include multiple session from Fleshbot Friend Jamye Waxman (including one about blowjobs) as well as Monstar's social networking wrapup and the compelling Swinging for Single Guys by Todd and Elena Crawford. I expect the latter to be especially packed with note takers. I mean, it's a cheap date.

Burning Man Says No To Playa Porn

Today's the first day of Burning Man, which would normally mean that early next week, we'd be unable to escape the deluge of photos of the scantily clad residents of Black Rock City. But this year's going to be different.

Concerned for their festival participants' privacy, the organizers of Burning Man have set up a new photo policy, one that's intended to keep photos of naked playa residents off of porn sites (and also Facebook—how did they know where we find our porn?).
