Porn directors are (usually) some of the most under-laid people I know. For a brief period, I flirted with the idea of creating a dating service for people who worked in the adult industry who wanted dates that didn't require a release form and an unsatisfying pullout at the end. Ninety percent of the people who replied were porn directors.

So there is no sex and drugs for Royster, who is in town to promote "Vixens". (At least no sex.)

"Hollie Stevens told me to approach girls as if I was considering them for a big part in a future movie, and then ask them to 'audition'" Royster said. "But I try not to knowingly be a douchebag."

Royster travelled to Vegas with a woman named Katy who hookd up with a friend of his almost immediately. "Katy lied," Royster said.

"It's like 'You love a little wild one, but she brings you only sorrow'," he added, and then: "'You find you're back in Vegas with a handle in your hand.'"

A porn director's life often reflects the lots of water/zero potable variety, but Royster isn't giving up.

"You just go back, Jack, and do it again," he said.
