That tacky reproduction of Gainsborough's "Blue Boy" hanging on a wall in the background in the second scene probably wasn't most viewers would remember about "Ass Masters #47"—unless you happen to be artist Ray Beldner, whose "Porn Art" series crops and enlarges details from hardcore porn stills in order to call attention to ... er, something: "This reversal of priorities is often funny as the original photos are taken in hotel rooms and other sites where the artwork is a utilitarian object, an absurd afterthought." Sure, the conceit wears a little thin after a while, and it's nothing we haven't seen other artists do before—but it is making us pay attention to certain things in the porn films we watch that we might have missed otherwise.
