Not sure how we missed this one: Artist Marta Edmisten pretended to be a trio of 18-year-old girls—Mariko, the Asian one; Jessica, the closet lesbian one; and Margaret, the slutty one—who wanted to make a little cash on the side by selling their panties online. She created a website to "sell" the wares, and in no time at all people started writing in with orders. Of course, no actual 18 year old girls were involved—the photos were taken using mannequins from the waist down—and the whole thing ended up archived online as well as in a show at a Chelsea gallery earlier this year. Mannequin fetishists may still be tickled by some of the shots on display, but we recommend reading the orders instead—proving once again that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.- J.
