I have a new artist crush, and her name is Audrey Kawasaki. The Pratt-educated, Los Angeles-based painter's work is sumptuous, yet delicate, with a line reminiscent of Aubrey Beardsley; though her illustrations and doodles are more evocative of Cali street artists like Barry McGee and Doze Green. This is stuff I would very proudly hang on my wall. So what if she often depicts hot lesbian action and nude amputees? Look at that sublimely restrained palette!- J. West
