    Suicide Girls Magazine Update

    2004_04_12_sg.jpg

Will the new Suicide Girls magazine be over before it even begins? We've just received a copy of a legal notice signed by nine writers whose work was supposed to appear in the debut issue of SG Pin-Up denying the magazine the right to print any articles submitted by them; according to our tipster, "The writers, who are all without contract, lost interest in the magazine when it became clear that it would be little more than a hipsterized Maxim with nipples." (Hmm, "a hipsterized Maxim with nipples" ... doesn't sound so bad to us, actually.) We'll keep you posted.

In the meantime, though, SG the website is alive and well - check out Gina Gershon's thoughts on being a lesbian icon ("It's cool") and her ideal mate ("action transvestite" Eddie Izzard!) in an exclusive interview, online today.

Update: We hear from a reliable source at SG that the magazine is "definitely a go," aforementioned legal notice notwithstanding. Whew. (See a sneak preview of the cover of SG Pin-Up here, and more from SG founder Sean Suicide's response at Boing Boing.)
