Two days after the story was broken by AVN and AdultFYI, national and international mainstream media is starting to cover the news of a veteran adult performer's diagnosis with HIV and its effect on the porn industry, with the LA Times, MSNBC and the Guardian posting stories this evening. We've been collecting links to articles and commentary in our earlier post on the story and recommend you consult the sources listed there for more information; in particular, AVN and Hardcore Gossip are doing a good job avoiding the hysteria and finger-pointing which seem to be characterizing a lot of the coverage, both from within the adult industry and without. And despite criticism in certain quarters, we think Sharon Mitchell and AIM are handling the situation responsibly.

It's going to get worse before it gets better. But it will get better. Stay tuned.
