We adhere to what we like to call the "two click rule" when deciding which photographers to feature here on Fleshbot: if we don't encounter any exposed skin within two clicks of landing at their website, we move on to the next name on our list. So it was a good sign when we visited Dutch photographer Ingrid Baars' online portfolio and were greeted by a smiling topless model splayed across her splash page; surely there would be more where she came from? Well, yes and no: while frequently smiling and often topless, Baars' cheerleaders, strippers, and swimsuit models are also distended, fragmented, flayed, and otherwise enhanced via the magic of digital manipulation, leaving them somewhere in that grey area between sexy and disturbing. Which is just fine by us ... and which just goes to prove once again that sometimes rules are made to be broken.
